All of us basically want the same thing from this server. The only thing standing in the way is us.
We do need to look at ourselves. But in honesty, I don't think that anything can be done for those who don't read this post, or respect the community enough to participate in the forums. The people here who are rule-abiding and contributing to the community are not here to police the server and to help out every single OORP person that they see. Unfortunately, we are here to enjoy ourselves.
Frankly, I see a bigger issue at hand than what you are mentioning.
Don't get me wrong. I agree with you, Xoria.
But I don't think the problem is the fact that this community needs more rules in order to keep it viable and running. I think that the problem this community is facing is the fact that many of the people here cannot treat Discovery as a game.
A reason why many of these rules exist is because people can't take dying in a computer spaceships game well, and need to re-engage in order to take revenge.
A reason why many of these rules exist is because certain people feel themselves too good for the rules.
A reason why many of these rules exist is because people feel the necessity to flame others is because they couldn't possibly be wrong, can they?
At the end of the day, it all comes down to the fact that we need to just relax, play our starships game, and accept the fact that it is a game. It is a simulation that, in combination with the forums, can feel realistic at times, but frankly, discovery will one day end. And when it does, all this realism, this simulation, this dream-like fantasty...
It's going to disappear.
Just remember that its a game, and treat it as one.
