There are seaveral arguments here... many suggestions for change to make it better. That's all good.
A few people have suggested that caps are made even more expencive, fair enough I can see how this will stop certain people obtaining caps. However, what about th e people who actually use them properlly? Is this fair on them?
Also, simply making things more expencive will just make said "lolindie" even more determined to do whatever he or she likes with their hard earned toy.
There surly can't be that much that can actually done in any direction as some group somewhere will allways whine and quite rightly so, given it bennifits others and not them. The way things are reguarding these lolcaps really has to stay the same, or light adjustments, such as posting in a thread to ask for a capital ship.
For example:
I'll use the only area I know like the back of my hand, Outcast indie-allowances..
The ZoI of a OC Capital, such as a Cruiser or higher should really be limited to: Omicron Alpha, Omicron Eta, Omicron-80 and 81 and of course the Outcast guard system. This is the general area any heavy militry wagon would operate in. Raiding in capitals? For the hispanic war, completly not nesscary for either side.
You ask "What about the IMG forces being in Tau-23/37 with their caps?"
well, being that 23 itself is an asteriod field, Nocapital would even be able to pass through without being heavily damaged, such repairs are too costly to keep on top of.
Reguarding Gunboats... well, Again for the hispanics, they are used foor pirateing, not just militry based forces, so to hell with "restricting" that..
Anyway, back to the method of aquireing said Capital ships...
Step 1: Make a post on the forums here for one.
Step 2: You wait.
Step 3: Trusted forum mod's/admins come along and review your application and give the go ahead to buy your capital vessle, understanding that you are to use it in a roleplaying mannor, within the ZoI of such a capital ship.
Step 4: You get your shiny toy and have fun.
Rather simple indeed, however, I hear you ask "who is going to police such a thing? forum and game admins are already over-worked"
In which case, maybe a simpler version of what I have said, maybe somone else can have some form of input.
Oh and any capital purchased and used should be simply reported in the same thread, callsign and timestamped screenshots... Then simply with this evidence, beamed to bastille until such a time the owner of the vessle in question can post for a capital the proper way.
If all ZoI's for capitals are sorted out, this can work nicely as no capital would ever be in the wrong place and if it were to be in the wrong place, it's owner can face a sanction, just to enforce such a thing.
