I just finished the game today. All in all, not a bad game. Not a great one, either. Better than Halo, but not as good as CoD4 or MW2.

The combat was mostly OK, though I noticed the issue with grenades always being right at your feet even on the normal skill setting. It bordered on luck-based gameplay, and I turned down the skill level just so I wouldn't have to repeat the same section over and over until I got it just right. It mostly helped, and otherwise it played about the same as the Modern Warfare series.

The story's background was a stretch, but just barely enough on this side of plausible that it didn't break my suspension of disbelief. The effort they went to in showing off the horrors of the Korean occupation was rather well done, I think. It really could've been anyone's home town here in the US, and they did a good job drawing you in early on. Now, it did get a bit weaker as the game went on, I thought. For example, you never find out why your character was wanted by the Koreans other than that you were a pilot. That seemed a bit odd as it looked as though Col. Jeong was going to be an important character. Then, he just dropped out of the picture in mid-game.

Other than that, the overall progression was fine, but the ending was rather abrupt. When the ending credits rolled, I felt a distinct lack of closure. One of the main characters was dead, and he stopped a KPA armored column, but you never even found out whether the US army and the resistance had managed to liberate the city or not. I didn't expect to liberate the entire US in the game, as I can tell they're setting up for a sequal, but this was a bit too vague. One more chapter to wrap that up would not have been a bad thing.

All in all, I didn't feel as though I wasted my time, and the game did keep me going through the whole thing. I'd say it's a decent game, even if there are better ones out there.
