Senator Kombuchinus's eyes were glued to the window of his quarters. They had been for the last few hours, as they travelled through massive star systems at incredible speeds. After the initial shock and realisation that he had left the atmosphere and gravity well of Primus - the planet he and his ancestors had been living on undisturbed for several hundreds year - he began noting down what he saw. He saw ships of varying types passing by them. The first were the two EDF escorts. He'd heard over the comms that they were known as Sabres. Then there had been fish-like ships passing by, size similar to the Sabres. Then a squadron of other starships - who from what he picked up on the comms belonged to a group known as the Corsairs - passed very close by.

They had passed through empty space, asteroid fields, dust clouds and nebulas before finally reaching the lush green orb that was Gran Canaria. They emerged from the ice cloud to the spectacular sight of Gran Canaria, and the two stars of the system gleaming brightly. They gave the planet a holy glow.

He watched the city, all the while his bodyguards sat silently. They paid no attention to him as he gasped and awed at the incredible scenery. They were trained professionals that Mugatu had assisted accompany him along. The High Warlord was a very paranoid figure, and his mannerisms Kombuchinus always found highly unusual. Thus far he had yet to find an explanation.

Along with his five bodyguards dispatched by Mugatu, he also had a member of the Elite Guard who was piloting the Dromedary. That seat was supposed to have been occupied by Bobby, but he had decided instead to help the Primusian Communist Party steal a Dromedary and take off for the stars. Kombuchinus had even had a quantity of synthetic marijuana ready to be loaded aboard for Bobby. It was a miracle that another Dromedary was made available before the EDF escorts arrived.

They passed through the shield surrounding the massive spaceport to the north of the city. On Primus, there were only a few compounds dotted around the planet that could service a single starship, which were merely clearings in the forest controlled by the Spore. They had yet to develop a real spaceport.

The Elite Guard who had replaced Bobby - Kombuchinus had yet to hear his name - gave the call to the bodyguards to escort him down to the cargo bay and the disembarkation area. They rose from their seats, identical appearances and heights. Kombuchinus stood and immediately felt a little dwarfed. They were eight-foot four, which was large even for Primusians. Kombuchinus was a mere six-foot eight and stooped with old age.

The Dromedary began its final landing, the landing pads extending out from underneath the ship and preparing to touch the ground. By this point Kombuchinus and his armed bodyguard detail were waiting at the cargo bay ramp, which would extend down to the floor of the spaceport as soon as the engines were deactivated.

A few minutes passed of silent waiting. The bodyguards hadn't spoken since the take-off from Primus, and during the trip Kombuchinus had felt lonely. He'd be happy to meet the Virulians to at least have a discussion about something - anything. He was sure that during his stay he would have plenty to occupy his time with.

The hum of the engines that Kombuchinus had grown so accustomed to over the last few hours suddenly ceased. The silence was deathly, and then the ramp began to groan as it extended downward. Sunlight from outside began to seep in, but by the time the ramp was halfway through its motion the light was flooding in. It was far more intense than Kombuchinus had expected. Even the bodyguards squinted. Primus had a very low light intensity thanks to a thick atmosphere and radiation.

Once the ramp had touched the ground, the bodyguards mobilised. They created an arrow formation with Kombuchinus forming the tip, and proceeded down and out into the dazzling sunlight of a whole new world.
