I have you beat by 2 years (been here for 3 years now), and I'm also in the USA. So let's take a look at your specific issues that you raise.
' Wrote:Lets look at example number 1:
I started my money making in Dublin, and eventually I started a few chars and joined the mollys. I love the mollys, its fun, interesting, and relatively enjoyable.
...
The point is that the Mollys get ganked a lot. ...
So instead, we mine, then ship, and mine, and ship.
Depending upon when and were you play ... everyone gets ganked. Heck, go make a raid into Minor with the BHG| and watch the Order come out.
' Wrote:Example 2:
This is the first time I have played a lawful trader in about 4 months. The first time, and I get robbed.
That would be one reason to avoid California, or following the trade lanes. Also, you've already said that you really enjoy playing unlawful characters (Mollies). Do you detect ANY hint of irony that you got robbed?
' Wrote:Example 3:
I was on my indy RM about a week ago, and I go with a bunch of Rheinland caps to go have some fun in
Texas and New York.
But what happens? We get ganked. We had 2 fighters, 3 battleships, and 2 cruisers. They send out a carrier, 3 dreds, 2 LABC's, 2 cruisers, 3 gunboats, and 4 fighters to kill us.
That is NOT a gank. You invaded with a substantial warfleet - 7 ships on your side, with 5 of them as big cap ships. The response of 15 ships sounds about right. Did your ships work together to concentrate on taking down one attacker at a time? Or did you guys just go in and shoot things up? And what would you say if the only response that Liberty had been able to make was a couple of gunboats? Would you have complained (or bragged) about how YOU ganked them?
When you go in with a battle fleet, you have to expect that you're going to get an overwhelming response. Also, if you're going in for a raid - then make sure to pull BACK when you're outnumbered.
' Wrote:Whats the point of spending all that time making money if you can't even do anything with it?
I'll just laugh at that one. I personally own 25 some odd ships, including Order, Zoner, BHG, LN,, RM, GRN, Outcast, Corsair, pirate and Freelancer. And I suck at PvP, so anytime I get into combat I expect to get killed. That's when you switch to playing something else.
For that matter, you're in the USA. The server numbers in our evening hours are normally down quite a bit, so go somewhere that's not as crowded.

P.S.
Please, logical discussion only. No trolling saying that I'm just Q_Qing, or that I just need to play longer, tell me why I am wrong, and give you reason for that.
Get the hell out of Dublin and go somewhere else. Expand your horizons. For example, one area that I've neglected during my 3 years here so far has been Kusari. So my goal this spring and summer is to make a Kusari ship or two, and run around up there. One of the things we like to do with house hunters is get a small hunting pack together and go run the pirates out of the trade lanes in California. They ALWAYS come back.
Also from your comments, it sounds like you're upset because you got blown up several times. I'll note that it was all in the same area. So GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE! If I get blown up in Delta, do I stick around there? Nope, I switch and play on someone in New York. If I feel like trading, do I trade through an area that I KNOW is going to have a lot of pirates? (Cali?) No, I figure that it's better to avoid them - so I go other places.
Don't give me grief about lawful trading, not when you're in the USA. We're in the perfect spot to be trading, when activity levels go down as Europe sleeps. Put some music on, and enjoy the tradelanes. (I've made many billions of credits doing that.)
