Sir.. eehmm... this letter was hand delivered sir...
a fine scroll in a bamboo casing is placed on the commanders desk.
It has been sealed with the House mark of the Karume's.
After carefully opening it the content reads:
Dear madam, sir,
It has been brought to my attention that Kusari is being pressed from manny sides. Me and my brethren of the Karume Clan on Kyushu are supporting the Kusari cause in all the ways oure budget allows us. As of late oure Samura employed brethren have made some good profit and have been funding our education as a fighter pilot.
Intentionally I was trained to escort freighters, and hence help my bretheren out. But while on training it dawned me that I could be of more use to the Kusari cause if I could protect others as well. After talking to oure new patron Miss Karume, she accepted my zealos appeal to try and join the Kusari honourable Naval Forces.
Having flewn with my trading brethren customs and diplomatics are not unfamiliar to me, nor is honour. Hence this request is send to you on paper handmade from our rice farms. I find it to be a more honourable way of requesting than by cold Technological Neural Net port. I hope you can feel the nostalgia in this as well.
Im honoured you even took the time to read my request, so Arigato Samuray Sama.
Kind Regards,
Yoshi Karume
At the bottom of the paper a house seal is stamped, its the Karume's seal, a Castle on top a mountain shrouded in mist with a single white lotus as gate.
