I have made progress in fixing the various bugs that have been causing crashes. I've improved the crash dumping and I'm waiting for more crashes to happen.
We *only* had 4 crashes in the last 24 hour period.
I accidentally uploaded new software that increased the NPC visibility distance. This was not intentional - this change is part of 4.86 software that was under testing. It is an unfinished change and it apparently doesn't work in missions (i.e. the distance is not increased). I'll probably change this behaviour in a few days). I will leave it running now to better assess its impact on server load.
I intend to do a little more work on ramming damage. I may get this done tomorrow unless I go to the pub.
There are many other things to do but server stability and then the balance issues around ramming damage are the highest priorities.
I'll also be uploading various changes related to the mining system in the weekend. These address various balance concerns and possibly make things more fun. We shall see.
