Sebys request to make the brigand line fit the lore of the brigands is entirely reasonable, due to the fact that their ships are meant to be strike/pirate ships. every brigand ship handles like some sort of light scout ship rather than a pirate ship, and looks that way as well.

Asking for a modeler to work on improving the line when these models on close inspection actually fall BELOW the criteria demanded of others not on the dev team in terms of modeling, is fairly justified.

If there're issues with the current models in terms of textures and hitboxing, name them and ask for those to be fixed.

What you people're mentioning about the shipline is your personal and subjective view on the ship models. As was said multiple times, just because you happen to be the official faction, does not mean you're allowed to shape the shipline around as it pleases your desires.
Current models are working just perfectly in their intended role, so maybe you should think about a change in your tactics if you cannot utilize what was given to you to its full extent.
