FL slowing down hugely

i had a similar problem. whenever, i exited a tradelane - or an enemy shot hit me - sort of whenever the server needed a syonchronize - my computer would slow down. ( the HDD was working on something ) ... i did not find spyware or anything - but a fresh reinstall of both, modmanager and freelancer helped.

still not sure what it was - but it appeared to be some background program that used up a lot of memory and cpu - whenever either textures were needed ( tradelance effects ) or the client made direct contact to the server ( synch )
