Investigation report
Officer missing, Taiki Ono
Case No. 235, 21.04.819
Â
The formal investigation was initiated when Shosa Taiki Ono did not report to flight duty and all attempts to contact him though usual channels gave no results.
Â
A military police unit was sent to his known apartment on planet New Tokyo. All rooms were in order, no signs of breaking and entering or other unauthorized access. However, technical team reported that all history of Ono's private communication device is permanently erased and deliberately damaged beyond recovery. Furthermore, a simple non-standard scrambler device was installed, easily available on black market.
Â
Check of Ono's neural net accounts established that all available finances had been exchanged to Sirius credit cards on several exchange points.
Â
As part of standard procedure, all landing pads in the vicinity were visited and questioned. One of ship rental companies informed our investigators that Taiki Ono had been there and rented a civilian CTE 1270AV Startracker vessel. He paid in Sirius credit cards. While the manager found that unusual and against the policy of the rental company, he claimed that he saw no reason to mistrust an officer of Kusari Naval Forces.
Â
By ship details provided by rental company, investigation was able to trace the movement of said vessel through tradelane network. Last log entry was on Yukawa Shipyard to planet Honshu lane, where the ship exited mid-lane.
Â
An investigation team was sent into the outskirts of Hiyo cloud. They found the wreck of the Startracker with relative ease. The safety module of ship's powercore was manually shut down, leading to overcharge and subsequent damage of all critical systems. No flight recorder data could be retrieved. Escape pod is missing. No evidence provides any clue of further path of Taiki Ono.
