Indies; why do we need them/what is good about them?

I stand by my earlier opinion.

Factions are summarily punished for the transgressions of individuals.
Indies are a shapeless mass that take no responsibility whatsoever.

Agreed, from my rather unique perspective on the matter.
There's also the problem of factions being blamed for indies, like with the Zoner war and the Corsair-Order Alliance breakdown.

As someone with three accounts, two full, with only ONE offical tagged, I find this wrong. A good chunk of indies take responsibility. Me, TCG, 63rd, TS|.

Being in an unofficial faction does not count as being an indie.

But indie =/= no responsibility.

Yes, yes it does.
A faction has to take all the heat for anything any one of it's members does.
A indie can run and hide and change their name, or whatever, and there's nothing anyone can do to hurt any single indie.
