This roleplay is directed as an EFFJOUU to the Back to the Future series. Many parkinsons jokes will be had (not really).
But yeah, all that this whole time traveling thing amounts to is a vehicle by which a socially out of place person picks a side in the civil war for a ridiculous reason.
The character possesses no relevant knowledge on the history of the canon timeline and as far as I know, since the war in his time line was so vicious, there were no significant scientific advances that would give either side an edge either.
