Lukas paused, uncertain. He hadn't anticipated this, but he thought carefully, and then replied with conviction.
"Because, Commissar, while the goal of the Red Hessians' leaders is without question, I have met many of them. Many of the rank and file are little better than thugs, with nothing but themselves in mind. They fly under the banner of the Hessians only to seek shelter and leech aid for their criminal activities from the organisation's stores."
Lukas drew himself up to his full height.
"Here, in the Coalition, there are no such problems, Commissar. I know for certain that every man, woman and child involved in the Revolution is fully committed to their goal. That is why I have come here today."
