Are you going to mindlessly spam systems like Disco?
Discovery, please tell me what this word means to you?
The current Discovery isn't Discovery (playing with words? not at all) but everything is already explored.
Instead, on DAU, you have a lot of new systems, that you cannot see on the Universe Map. But that you can casually discover, and then you can sell the location for the system to a faction. The new systems will be bigger (or more) as Newcastle. Gallia has been deleted in this (our) spin-off. Maybe Igiss' won't like this, but this was the most logical course of actions for us, everything is alternate in DAU, everything was made to reflect what DiscoveryGC is.
On Discovery Main you had New York (Liberty) full of lolwts. We purged the place on DAU.
On Discovery Main, Kusari is lacking activity. This will change aswell. (no spoilers)
On Discovery Main, Rheinland is losing the war because they lost all their capital ships and military power in the Nomad Wars of 800 - 801 AS, on DAU, they salvaged part of they military force and attacked Liberty, Liberty is losing the war mainly because of an unexpected event, the Dallas Black Hole, a collateral effect of the Texas Incident of over 600 years ago.
On Discovery Main, everyone knows the SCRA. On DAU, Murmansk (EX Omega 52), Kiev, and Moscow are far away from Sirius (but near due to engine limitations for the NavMap), so it'll be up to the playerbase with their RP on how they'll reveal the faction.
On Discovery Main, the Zoners are a capspamming faction like The Order. We purged them aswell, on a friendly basis of course, they have new things to balance the lack of Capital Ships.
On Discovery Main, staying near an enemy station with a battleship was easy-bizzy. On DAU, approaching the defense grid of lets say, Norfolk Shipyard, will hit you hard. Station turrets are now doing x3 damage.
Our general idea, is to make Discovery an actual space-is-still-unknown thingy. And we made this by making space more dangerous aswell. Like our famous instagib anomalies in Texas (see previous posts).
And yes, Edison Trent, Jun'ko Zane, Michael King, and Casper Orillion died during the Siege of Toledo of 800 AS. With them going down, the Osiris aswell.
