Pirates, terrorists and PvPabuse

Pirate IDed characters can only engage anyone in self defence, to protect a smuggler, or if their demands are not met.

I second that, I recall that I read this somewhere in the rules board a while back and that's also how I used to do it when I was still playing a pirate ID. Fact remains that pirates are supposed to be greedy, have long beards and have a parrot.

If a pirate just randomly attacks a transport without making a demand first it's just plain old pvp abuse, however if the same thing happens with a lawful fighter or bomber or whatever, I don't really see a problem to it. In that case it's just survival of the fittest.
