As the war unfolded, the Silverton and Copperton fields were steadily depleted. As the black, hole destroyed Mississippi, all Navy units within the Colorado system save the Rio Grande and a few fighter wings remained.
Seizing the chance, Xeno leaders launched a massive attack at the Rio Grande. Overwhelemd and caught by surprise, Navy pilots watched in horror as (a CAU8 Hegemon opens up, not really) Xeno bombers released Nova torpedoes. As the torpedoes impacted, the Navy fighters commenced a retreat to planet Denver, the Rio Grande's hull buckled, and as the Xenos flew away, the dreadnought exploded, its wreckage forming a ring around the planet it had orbited.
Learning of the loss of the Rio Grande, Navy Command, already hurtimg from Rheinland, could only spare a single battlexruiser, the Douglas McArthur, at the Jump Gate with a refueling platform for the five fighter wings it had sent with the Battlecruiser.
Cut off from help, Pueblo is pounded by Xenos daily, with Navy units barely able to defend Pueblo and Denver.
Best I got for that. Ima at a loss for any other systems besides Ontario.
Comments welcome.
Oh, and any, help with someone else on the Californoa front is welcome.
