Anyone taken Geology in University/College level?

Physics/Chemistry is the best thing to mix with your Geography background if you are looking at good job prospects.
Oil Companies pay well, very well. They also are always in need of folks to find oil for them, or to determine if it can be drilled to etc.
I suggest go to a career advice place, they should be able to help you. They will know the current state of the job market in most careers.

Course, you can also look at engineering or somewhere inbetween.

I used to love physics back in secondary, chemistry... not so much but I was still alright at it. I think I can try those as well for the reasons you stated.

None of the career places around here are any good, they're horrible. "You want to work in a warehouse?" Is usually they're go-to line.
