ummm yes. Hindu as in culture, not religion. Like referring to someone as jewish as either culture or religion. That's how it is whether people like it or not.
It's not correct under ANY circumstances to refer to people in Hindustan as 'Indian'. That word was already pre-defined. And used for another group. Period.
