Adding to it, I've always thought its because while the admins could do those things, we dont because we do hope to and strive for a general sense of fairness. This is not always black and white, and we do screw up. But we do a bit of internal policing as well - we call each other out on things that are dodgy. All in all, I think we just want to keep it real, and not be evil.
And that means not be evil as in as it says, not in the Google Sense.
