Ray smirks at the fact that he hasn't flown with this "cat" before and today's patrol had proven to be a good bond. Despite his loud and obnoxious comments. Over all it only matters if that pilot can fly and watch his back. Not like some pilots he has lost in his years as a CrossBone Pilot. Some never learned the values of true honor.
To himself Ray laughs and lets out a grin.


Karen: What's so funny?

Karen and Emma adjust themselves to allow Noland to sit at the table. Karen being closest to Ray and Emma closet to Noland.

Ray: Nah nothing. Just thinking about all the good times.

Karen: Awe. Oh here comes your food!
Ray: Good. Aren't you going to eat anything?
Emma: Really we can't we're not pilots so it'd cost us. Besides we got plenty of food on the Emerald Star.
Ray: Hah. Never been inside that Emerald Star is it nice?
Emma: For the most part. Some areas you just want to avoid.
Ray: Hm

The Waiter with a discontent look on his face sets down the plate and sets the drink down. And pauses.

Ray: What is this?
Waiter: Honestly cannot tell you...

Ray looks at his plate with the majority of it covered with fries and a small piece of beef residing between two slices of bread.

Waiter: Take it up with our previsions director supplies are getting low again we'll need another few shipments soon or it's back to synth paste. It's your call.

Ray: Ah thank you.

Waiter: At least we have enough potatoes....

The waiter walks off and Karen pokes Ray's arm and Ray looks at her trying to keep a grin.

Ray: Ah well. Been doing this for years I have had it worse aha.
Karen: Well when we finally free our home then we can have as much food as we want! We can do anything and be anything we want.
Emma: Yeah that's what we are fighting for right? We can start over and you know turn a new leaf.
Ray: Exactly the point

Ray nods and grins while staring at his food. As he stares he examines the likely hood of seeing the end of this war and the likely hood he will ever have a family of his own. But deep down his desire to fight burns harder for that dream to provide a place for his family to live and grow free from evils. Ray begins to eat the burger. Noland - who wasn't paying attention- now turns and sees food on the table. He grabs at on of the fries and chews on it.
