Maybe this thread is, in some sense, related to the also recent Praetyre thread (Praetyre's inquiries). Perhaps, with someone taking the role of the Queen and of the Emperor, the factions will start to align themselves more visibly towards a common orientation (note I said "visibly").
Maybe in the future we could get, and this is only a suggestion, characters openly wearing the colors of the BAF while keeping their mutual independences as different factions. Something like:

[BAF]pilotsname[QCO]

OR

[SF]pilotsname[BAF] (in both cases the factions keeping their structures but openly aligning themselves with the NPC faction)

OR (but I somewhat seriously doubt the merging of stablished factions as a good idea)

[BAF]pilotsname (with all the members of the united factions)
