Actually, all factions are special, that's why they're factions and not indies. Mommy says I'm special too.

It was still the only official IMG faction. What was so special about it? At that time many factions used names from other games or series, like Asguard Wariors for a Zoner faction, etc.
And it's name was actually Battlestar Group. Since Battlestar was a name of the IMG battleship, there's nothing wrong with that name.
But I believe we are going offtopic here, I assure you, I was never in a special faction.

I'm not part of the Aoi Iseijin, I just dislike whiners who want to magnify every single minor issue into a huge problem. Yes, that's what you and the rest of you are who whines about this, whiners.

This is what makes this community so boring and annoying, luckily we can ignore your crying in-game when you just die and can leave the system for four hours. Now continue whining and waste your time, things will stay the same, and I'm flying away. 8-)
