Privateer = Pirate with the legal backing of a nation. There's nothing about 'serving a queen privately'.

Read the wikipedia entry I posted. Privateers were heavily used by the British empire. Most privateers were British. They didn't skulk around doing their pirating secretly, they made it known to all their targets who they worked for. That's why we're 'Queen Carina's Privateers', not 'Privateers Working for an Unnamed Monarch'.

Actually, we do take mercenary jobs. But only if the Queen would approve and we'd be shooting those guys anyway.

A good way to make a sneaky penny for the war effort. Buuuut... noone ever hires us anyway...:(
