First to Ares point about unity. Unity created at the barrel of a gun will never be stable. Also Ares, while you chastize your "fellow" corsiars, it is you who have left us. divided your loyalties away from the corsairs and then bemone a lack of unity. If all corsairs took your example and LEFT the Brotherhood of Crete, Our enemies would control it.
Next, I posted this on our private comm system, but I think it is appropreate to post it in a more public setting at this time. It may be a little dated but it clairifies my thoughts on SCRA.
THe problem as I see it, is not with the SCRA history, but with thier actions right now. Now I offer no excuse or love for the OPG, but it may be that Gentles problems with SCRA had a hand in OPG moving toward our enemies. It just seems to me that SCRA has had conflict with each and every other Corsair faction that comes about, Benitez, OPG, LDDLG, as well as many independent corsairs whom we call brothers. If it is in fact the SCRA's mission to bring about a revolution through out Sirius, it would make sense from thier point of view to foster internal conflict between the corsair factions. Now I'm not suggesting the SCRA is hostle to us now, but If they are succsessful in thier stated mission, at some point they will be hostle to us, and they know that. It would make sense for them to keep the Corsairs weak, by fostering internal conflict. That way, when they do get to us, we will have no other allied corsairs to help us, we will have learned our tactics from SCRA so they will know exactly how to defeat us, and they will replace the Elders with a Politboro of SCRA members. As I said I dont beleive the SCRA is hostle to us now, but at some point, they will be and we will find ourselves alone. Now they hardest part of this opinion.....Elder Ares....I do not question Ares honor as a Corsair, but one must admit, he has a divided loyalty, and his opinions on issues must be taken in a "Trust but Verify" type of mentality. When push comes to shove, do we really know what Ares actions would be if SCRA and TBH were in conflict. Now I want to be clear, Ares has through word and action, show himself to be a Corsair par execlance, but the problem comes in because he is Corsair AND scra. We also must remember Ares is not SCRA, he is a member of SCRA, and not even his leader, he may not know what their leaders long term plans involve.
This is just my opinion and a long term view at that, but I think it is important to keep in mind.
PS I think its intresting that one of the SCRA uses thae fact that LDDLG used Infernos in the past as a reason to condem them, while SCRA allows it's piolits to use Infernos. A bit of hypocracy mabye.
