"Tractor beam" suggestion; hear this one out

Couldnt we just make a CD that disrupts thrusters? An EMP sounds too overpowered, not matter how it is used.

Thrusters can't be CD'd in any way because they work on a different way of propulsion.
And I want be able to thrust away with my trader at 140m/s when the other guy still has all his engine abilities (like cruise flight)!;)
