Does Disco still have enough player base to keep running all factions ?

Your Jedi Balancing powers are no match for the power of the Metagaming Factionlancers.

Metagaming murders smaller player based factions. Small player based factions have no hope against Factionlancers.

The main players leave and the new players either don't want or don't know how to Roleplay. New players turn to the idea that battleship can solve all problems.

5 Players against 30 players spread out in 3 factions equals no chance in hell.

I only looked at the first post to try to stay on target but IMG like Samura hit a player base chord. IMG became the focal point for the new gallic story and they are the -Independent- Miners guild. Its as close to being independent with benifits as it gets. They also interact with pretty much every house daily. Samura makes money. They are attractive, have a -quiet- house that doesnt go out of its way to rage everyone, have good relations with bad factions. Did I mention it's Samura?

These two factions play to the main drive of Freelancer. New faction or smaller factions require players to interact more and Roleplay more. Perhaps no one likes starting over or can't roleplay past blowing someone up. These two have done their RP part and mearly have to continue a process that is tried and true for -them-.
