To Daedric (concerning throwing away capital ships): What you suggest is not an option. Capital ships are integral part of our roleplay background and offered defense solutions. While the snub swarm is able to handle everything except solaris battleships swarm, in order to be able in roleplay and out of roleplay to deploy heavy defense groups, we need access to capital ships. Personally I hate flying them all... I mean the whole two I have. But without capital ships EDGE would be just Mandalorians or Reavers Lite, with a lawful alignment.
To Snoozzzer (concerning the shipline again): We don't really care for any concrete shipline. The Bounty Hunters Guild shipline is very good though. It has probably the worst battleship, good battlecruiser, probably the best light destroyer, moderate gunboat, probably the best light gunship, standard light bomber and moderate very heavy fighter. As I said before the only ships we would miss are Thresher and Bottlenose, which are all ultra light in their classes. As far as I know there are only three possible solutions. First is the Bounty Hunters Guild ID + Guard ID. Second solution is the mercenary ID with a SRP to use entire BHG shipline. Third solution is the mercenary ID with a SRP to use any capital ships that we legitimately purchased. The problem with the first solution is the OFPID rule. The second solution is the preferable one. The third solution is also acceptable. However, it has a serious drawback. It would end up with EDGE using probably ships from lawful factions all around the Sirius. No idea what we would be able to negotiate. Imagine, however, a hypothetical army for hire using Sabres, Upholders, Kusari Explorers, Bretonian Destroyers, IMG Battlecruisers, Aquilions and whatever else. It lacks just a Scorpion with the Order gunboat turrets. It wouldn't be a professional military company but instead just a rag tag armada of whatever-has-engines. Another problem is that we would rely on ships belonging to warring factions. Obviously IMG wouldn't like their ships to be used in defence of DHC, while Liberty wouldn't like to see their technology be used to fight criminals in Rheinland. Not to mention that it is the best scenario, as generally the federal forces of those states would most likely just shoot us. Also as we know it from experience ordering anything from official factions is a real pain. The best example of it would be that our request for a single battleship turret was granted after nearly four months. Also I am not certain how it would look in practice. But if we were forced to write a SRP request for every capital ship we have, then it would be not worth it. All in all the best solution would be to have Mercenary ID with SRP to use entire BHG+Core shipline.
To Aeneid (concerning circumventing the bounty restrictions): This is exactly the thing we don't want to do. Every unofficial faction can circumvent this restriction by just doing a pattern search on the server activity list and placing individual bounties on all members of a certain faction. Not to mention the fact that a mercenary group hiring mercenaries to kill other mercenaries is just lame. We would prefer to act purely in defensive manner or to provoke enemy and then ambush them.
In short there are three solutions:
Stay with BHG ID + BHG Guard ID (not preferable and unlikely to be granted)
Switch to Mercenary ID + SRP to use entire BHG shipline (this is the preferable solution)
Switch to Mercenary ID + SRP to use purchased capital ships (this solution has serious drawbacks)
