Think what you like, but as per the character's RP, she was a merc. Whatever opinion you may have otherwise is void, because it's not your character and your understanding of her is not the same as mine.

Yes, the old: I'm am right and you are wrong because I said so argument; often used by those who've no reasonable argument left to support their stance.

Per the character's role play you gave us, she can role play as a Corsair mercenary with a Corsair ID. You presented this character as an example as character who should be given a tech permission. I've countered that by presenting the fact you can perform this role play with a Corsair ID.

Could there be a reason for her to need a Merc ID? Of course, as Prim pointed out you can write up valid reasoning for almost anything.
