It shouldn't have to take a year, and nobody's going to want to wait a year. Apply for official status, yeah, dandy and all, but having your own ID should be a right that comes with officiality. You know as well as I do the majority of official factions do not and will not ever be getting their own IDs, for reasons I still fail to understand.

More rights that come with officiality, yes, indeed. That, I have no problem with, in principle. And exclusive IDs - in principle I also don't disagree. A whole server full of factions with no shiplines to control or npc faction roleplay to determine, I can live with.

An ID takes five seconds to implement. It's some writing and an update with cannon's updater.

New IDs for all 60 official factions (who account for around 10% of all activity on the server) is possibly a low priority (especially when it is for those factions that can't meet the laughably low levels of activity required to remain official.)

It shouldn't mean people just get their own ID simply because they want one. Nor should it presented as an ultimatum to us. (Like in the case here - give us an ID or allow us to bypass the rules.) If you aren't playing X faction, why make that faction in the first place?

Although maybe the real issue here is that we are trying to fit square pegs (players) into round holes (the mod and server rules).
