you can,you just take 3d shape of a cargo transport and make the cruiser with the same shape, you duplicate the slot for ID, add weapon hardpoints inside the cargo containers so that only points are sticking out like in the ships borrowed from homeworld, and voila, all you got to do is fix it up so ti registers as regular transport on scanners, not sure if that is possible tough.
