Hello to whoever reads this, I've never been one for diaries and names, I don't even remember my name all that much, it was so long ago, but if you need something to adress me by, everyone just call me Kophka, what I named my ship after.

Now, as I've said before, I've never been one for diaries but, something special has happened, something I can't fully explain or express in words which compelled me to start this diary.

So, a little background on myself, I've been born on Planet Manhattan, I know, nothing special, some might even find it very pathetic, but living there had it's own merits, what with Liberty just being a corrupt craphole as a whole if you dig too far down into society, you learn alot about that kind of thing and who you want; or rather should work for.

I spent most of my youth helping my dad who worked in a little equipment shop on Planet Manhattan, so I'd say I know my way around ships fairly well, until my dad died when I just turned 14, it was quite the blow as he was the only parent I had left, I never met my mom, she died giving birth to me.

According to the police report, my dad got murdered by a group of thugs and the police didn't do jack**** about it, they probably got bought by the thugs, wouldn't surprise me as my dad did make a couple of enemies along the way.

Anyway, when my dad died, a good friend of him took care of me, he fed me, sheltered me, taught me things my dad never had the time to teach me, he even found me a job at his workplace as a delivery man, first I did local jobs until I got old enough and until I had enough money to buy myself my very first ship.

A Starflier. This was when things picked up a bit, I finally left the prison that was Planet Manhattan and set my first foot in space.

Space is such a beautiful place, I think it was the very first time I've felt in awe with something. This was around the time I decided to stop being a Delivery man and start doing jobs as a Freelancer, there was just so much more opportunities in space.

I just took whatever job paid the most, I didn't care for who it was, or against who it was, if the money was there, I was up for it. Granted, at first in my little Starflea I didn't take anything dangerous, mostly small jobs, sometimes low risk escorts, enough until I afforded a decent, durable, tough and strong ship to take on more dangerous tasks.

By the time I hit 21 years old, I had enough to afford myself a nice Gunboat even! And so, this is what I did, unfortunately gunboats aren't really accessible to freelancers, I had to settle with something relatively easy to get, tried applying for a Liberty Gunboat but I was quickly denied this request, I then tried with the Zoners, usually much more of a cool bunch for one of their Gunboat and they granted it to me.

So, here I finally was, a little name made for myself with a decent ship.

I stayed my entire life in Liberty space, so I thought I'd start exploring a bit, I've heard alot of stories about the border and edge worlds which only made me more curious.

And now is the part that made me start this very diary.

It all started in the Sigmas, as I had promised myself, I would leave Liberty space to go and explore. Sigmas always had a good ring to my ear, so I figured that I'd start there.

In the Sigmas is where I met this very peculiar fellow. He was a Pirate. He was in the middle of pirating like all good pirate does, now, if he was only your regular pirate it probably wouldn't have changed much from the pirates I have killed or worked for before, but I'll come to that later.

So, he was in the middle of pirating those traders, asking them for a certain amount of credits for free passage, your average pirate really, I left him alone and just dismissed it as another case of traders getting pirated.

I stayed in Sigmas for several day, for the most part nothing much happened, though for some reason I did always seem to meet this very same pirate as before.

Every. Single. Day.

We met day after day in space, never exchanging words until we met each others in the Bar of a Zoner base. The more I saw him in space, the more I was interested, "Why is he doing this", "What made him become a Pirate?", there was just something very interesting about him.

And so, I jumped on the chance, having met several time in space without exchanging words, I thought I'd engage a conversation with him in the bar.

At first he was very reluctant to everything I was asking him, nothing a few drinks couldn't solve though.

After a couple of drinks he was much more comfortable with me, he was quite friendly even, there was just this very charismatic aura about him despite him being an unlawful Pirate.

After small talk, I finally got him to spit me his name.

Turns out he was quite well known in the Sigmas and quite well known as a very experienced pilot.

His name? Rorry, King of the Sigmas.

The sigmas turned out to be much more interesting than I had anticipated, Rorry and I turned out to be good friends, he told me his story and even though we both came from very different pasts, we've both been victims of injustice and corruption.

I've stopped doing Freelancer works now, I was even thinking about becoming a pirate, about this, I wonder if Rorry would accept me as a partner.
