The story of a child..
Some time ago, a smuggler arrived in front of Malta with a cargo full of slaves. Nobody knew that in that lot of slaves there was a woman who would give life to a child who would become one of them.
That woman died when the baby was born. One of the Dons of Malta took him, planning to transform him into a killing machine for his own defense team.
Without parents, without a future, without a past, without a name, this kid was perfect to become a loyal killer.
In time the child grew up. He spent his childhood in a military environment, training all the time, increasing his skills everyday.
At the age of 16, he already had become an experienced bomber pilot. He was able to bring down both experienced fighters, and less armored gunboats.
The Don was proud of him. Because of his chaotic fighting style, the Don gave him a name: Versatil.
Years passed, Versatil grew up and began to ask questions about his origins, about his parents, but nobody gave him an answer.
He feelt that he is not part of that nation, he feelt that he needs to know who he is...
Good or evil?
In one day the Don told him that in Tau 23 there are a couple of miners with a single escort and that he must capture the escort pilot, and bring him back to Malta.
Versatil formed a team and left for Tau 23, directly to the mining field. Even though he didn't know that this mission will change his life forever.
There he found two mining ships and a bomber.
He said: " You have two choices...One: You all die in less than 2 minutes. Two: You, *Mr. Escort*, come with us. Feel free to choose, feel free to fight us"
That IMG pilot thought it would be better if he would leave with the Outcasts, and he said: "I will come with you only after these miners are free to go"
"As you wish!" said Versatil, and they went to the Alpha system. Versatil thought: "Why did this man gave up his life for someone else?". That was an illogical action for him.
The next day, after an entire night of interrogations, the Don commanded Versatil to kill that pilot because he is useless to him.
Versatil went in the room where was the pilot and seeing him beaten and covered in blood, asked: "Why? Why did you gave your life away for them?"
The response was not late: "Because they have families, they have children, they have a life. You can't understand that"
Versatil said: "Well...I can't..But can you explain it to me? Do you have one?"
IMG Pilot said: "No, I don't have a family anymore, because they were killed by people like you!"
Versatil said: "Like me? You know nothing about me!" *he made a sad face* "I do not even know"
IMG Pilot said: "Remember why you're here..Now do it"
Versatil said: "Yeah, i know why i'm here! *he released the pilot* "Now let's move! We will take your ship because it's more agile than mine."
They left Malta at maximum speed with many outcast crafts behind them. Versatil managed to escape and they soon arrived near Java Station.
IMG Pilot: "You can't dock here my friend. They will put you in prison. Keep this vessel in exchange of my life and...Try to keep in mind that you're a good man even if you are a pirate! Thank you!
Versatil: *excited* "I will remember you my friend! Tell your friends that I will never bother them, only if they will engage me. And if you need help, feel free to contact me!"
And Versatil dropped the IMG Pilot in a cargo pod near Java station and flew away.
