Problem is PoBs in mining fields make it impossible to actually do any substantial RP as a pirate since even if all you do is drop the bare bones demand 9/10 or more that miner will have more than enough time to dock as well as the fact that all the station turrets will tear you to shreds if you try to type out RP. As someone that until recently was more into trading than piracy I have to say there is a lot more traders/miners that try to avoid RP or do the bare bones than pirates. Some of my favorite moments on the server where fun interactions with pirates that I had on my trader.

I as a miner have problems with PoBs inside mining fields. Coz while mining my mining lazers do hit the base even if i aim the rocks (they hit the rock, go through it at angles and do hit the base)and then i'm hostile to the PoB and have to move. The PoB not only denies the field to pirates but also to people not affiliated to the base(as in my case)So yeah, moving Pobs away from the mining fields gets my vote.

Felt it time to resurrect this, as a POB in an "ore field" is looking to move onto core 4. I asked many times during these discussions if all mineable fields are covered under the new rulings. By all, I mean scrap (not premium), water, toxic waste, etc.

Edit: apologies. I forgot about garrets announcement thread, which is where this post really belongs, but still my question stands unanswered.

It applies to all mining fields.

So Danzig in new London and Beaumont spire will no longer be rising in core levels then? My structure in Leeds can't go up anymore even though no mining operations happen there.

You could request to have your pob moved out from the mining field a min distance of 15k. Core upgrades would then be permitted.

Since the thread was bumped, it might be a good opportunity to ask the [M]olly leader whether the PoB inside BMM's mining fields (Hochschild Gold Mining PLC) affected the activity and perhaps the attractivity of the faction that he is leading, a faction dedicated in Dublin and destroying BMM. I don't know his answer, so I am equally interested to read his thoughts on this.

Edit: For the record I do not think a PoB inside a field in which only Water can be mined should really be included here.

don't move them, just increase the upkeep of bases inside asteroid fields; t'will become a self limiting problem

I personally don't think this PoB hindered the faction's activity or attractivity ( at least not in a signicant way ).
Our recent drop of activity, was mainly due to summer vacation, among other factors.
