I'd gladly fly there, but I'm not a 100% RP guy, rather 50/50 PvP/RP. And there's nothing to PvP with in Kusari, except a couple of occasional newbie Order caps doing missions in Tohoku, or, very rarely, when the BD or the Corsairs besiege a lawful POB. And it's been months since that.

As far as I know, war will break out. That is good. But it should also be a good war, because Kusari and, I hope, Rheinland, value their RP. Don't hurry with it, don't start it for silly reasons. See what situation Gallia is, for starting a war too rashly (and, well, starting to exist too rashly, too). Don't allow plot holes. I've seen the recent Wilde post in the Kusari claiming Sigma-21 news thread, and I think it's one of them. I think that we shouldn't start every war because of the Nomads. Starting them for human reasons is the best RP, in my opinion.

Kusari is still recovering from a defeat by Gallia, and a civil war. Its government is a coalition of opposing parties, and it is unstable. I guess it would be realistic if public support was lacking. Kusari's current situation reminds me of France after WWII: its reputation battered to the ground, but its people still proud, and eager to recover the lost good image. Their government needs a quick victory in an easy war to gain the love of its people.

Now let's take a look at Rheinland. Defeated by Liberty, plagued by the Hessians far and wide, at war with the Corsairs, at war with the GMG, reeling from the Munich disaster (which was, by the way, caused by Kusarians testing some technology on Augsburg). They are, or at least look like, a weak target that is at the brink of their morale and has overextended its forces. If Kusari occupies the Sigmas, with the GMG's approval of course, and holds them for not very long, Rheinland can be starved out of fuel and it would sue for terms.

However, Rheinland is a proud House, too. And their government has issues as well. They've lost the war with Liberty, they've sold a whole planet to Synth foods, they are not handling the Munich disaster well, and Hessians roam the lanes and krieg any bases they like. Not to mention the unemployment and poverty that chronically trouble Rheinland since the Nomad war. Rheinland has a battleship in Sigma-21, because it has claimed Sigma-21 for itself. Now imagine that battleship retreats, Rheinland gives up its claim, and its people find out about it. Would the Rheinland government manage to stay in power? It's a very hard question, and they don't want to answer it. It is easier to resist Kusari. And Kusari isn't a very strong enemy anyways -- Rheinland already defeated them in 801 and, if I remember well, even entered New Tokyo. If Rheinland wins this war, it is a guarantee for its government to stay in power. But if it backs down, all the revolutionary movements will probably grow even stronger.

Solid review. 10/10, Thundie. You have put in words how it was, how it is and how it should be.

I support this man view.

i agree to this, there should be war but it should also be something that all can enjoy.

I'm fairly sure that part was retconned because it involved Kishiro and Samura working together. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I just remember hearing that somewhere.

I can't see it in the infocard of Augsburg any more, but if Battleship Terminator Turrets, according to their infocard, can be made in a joint effort by Kishiro and Samura, why can't the Munich disaster? And can we please stop retconning pieces of the storyilne, because this is becoming alarmingly confusing?

While i kind of disagree with the "Thundy analysis" of Rhein situation, agree w pretty much all the rest (yes, i forgive you for not having paid attention to fuel RP last year... you was busy with your tea).

And no, wont be nice yet another Nommie thing, but dont worry, idea quite more human than that, and trivial maybe, a pressing matter one could say.

I might have paid attention to the fuel RP, or might have not Smile

But, has Kusari? Do they have means to know how much reserves of fuel Rheinland has? I made them make a mistake intentionally, because we don't want the war to actually be easy and quick, as Kusari does. We want it to last for a long time, and be fun to everyone as long as possible.

The problem with the Sigmas right now is it feels incredibly artificial. There's been little participation by the factions, and even less by individual players, in generating the roleplay behind it. The majority of things that have happened in the Sigmas as of recent are Dev pushed, with new bases magically appearing out of thin air before local groups even have a chance to roleplay their construction, or interact. It feels like it's all being railroaded too hard without being given room to grow naturally. The community should be involved as roleplayers, not puppets on strings, in the Sigmas.

At the rate things are going, it's my belief that this 'war' will create some consistent activity for one or two weeks, before fizzling out when the community gets bored, and being almost exclusively relegated to events.

On a side note yeah, the reason why it's so dead is because there's nothing to do but pirate powertraders, and we know how "good" piracy is at the moment, especially without a proper choke point. No activity hubs, no active PvP engagements or desire from factions to do so (Aoi would gladly talk to people and make an encounter if someone would log), no raids or encouragement to raid, spontaneous meetings with non-traders are next to nonexistent. A war would be great but the mentality of not logging because you expect no interaction is very weird with Kusari, you don't see it in other houses.

Well, it's not much of an expectation. You can surely log in Kusari expecting interaction, but you will find zero resident traders 90/100 times, and close to no reaction from other parties (and even your own npc factions players) if you are in the air, 4 out of 5 times.
When they react, it's with enough numbers to pound you down and dictate the interaction (pvp execution, of you don't log off in the meantime)
