"Ah, sorry." He let his hand drop to the side, asking the bartender for a glass of cold water. He takes the glass and hands it to Djinn. "So what brought you here to this bar? It's pretty much known to have nothing but criminals here." Saronsen leans back against the bar. "I might as well be a criminal.. Again.." He shrugs, "Maybe I always was a criminal."
Saronsen nods. "I don't really have a home, except for my Jinkusu. Been living on-board for a few months, and it's been years since I've been on a planet for more than a few days." He stands and stretches, looking around the slightly less crowded bar. "But, I guess that's what happens when you live like I do." He looks up at the ceiling, closing his eyes.
"But hey, no one's here to hear my life story, right?" He asks for a glass of water for himself as the bartender walks by.
Saronsen runs his hands through his hair unconsciously, taking out the few knots in it, and straightening it out a bit. "Aye, although I think the Council is going to be on my ass in the next day or two for the hell I caused last night. Chances are, they won't want me to have it for much longer." He rubs his eyes again, and sighs. "If it comes to that, they won't be taking my home away. It's the home of nearly two thousand people as well."
He drinks some of the water, chewing on an ice cube that falls into his mouth.
"Feh, I never did care much for council's or admiralty boards and the likes...I prefer to just go out and fulfill my tasks at my own pace, in my own way...the hell with oversight committee's and such.."
She growled slightly and sipped at her water again, nodded to Saronsen.
"I'm sure you'll figure out a way to get past them.."
Saronsen shakes his head, gripping the glass in his hand tighter. "Well, not with what I did. Not was I and my crew a direct reason that an entire Navy battlefleet was destroyed, but I was assisting the Hellbound in the entire brawl.. It wasn't completely of my choosing, I really only wanted to help out a Maltese captain who was there in California. They had shown they didn't want any violence, but the Navy came full force." His grip tightens further. "The Hellbound rolled in just before the fight started.. When people find out that I helped a Phantom kill off the law forces of Liberty.. Things won't bode well for me." He drinks more of the water.
"I'm still surprised that all of the people who live onboard my ship are still on my side, though."
"Th...The Hellbound? that ship is terrifying, even to me, and it's on -my- side! still...you helped it and ensured that it survived whether you meant to do so or not...and I'm sure that won't go ignored...Though there's not really much that I can do for that..."
Djinn finished off her glass of water and set it down on the counter.
"Though you're right, it's amazing the crew of your ship hasn't mutinied.."
She began to tap her fingers against the counter-top, creating a soft rhythm which she began to hum along to.
Saronsen half smiles. "So you're a Phantom too, huh?" He lowered his voice just slightly as he spoke. He shrugged and chuckles. "I should've assumed as much. I knew I heard your names before I just couldn't remember where."
His knuckles turn white as he grips the now-empty glass in his hand. "I think the fact that I've given all of these people a new home is what keeps them from going against me. We have all kinds.. Xenos, Rogues, Outcasts, Corsairs, Blood Dragons, Chrysanthemums.. It's quite the lot, believe me, but everyone gets along. Mostly." He swings back and forth on the stool slightly. "I acted based on my morals, and I think they all understand that. Do you think that Ranseur stood a chance against two Carriers, a Dreadnaught, three bombers, and two Battlecruisers, all alone?" He chuckled lightly.
