Let's keep this thread on topic...

Anyhow until that rp isn't changed. Etna is Outcast piltos slaughterhouse. (as well as others who are being captured) And later their body parts are sold for money.
Wait, what? What? Seriously, what?

1)I didn't understand a word of that.
2)What?
3)I don't think it made a lot of sense.

If that were true, he or she needs to be shot. Virtually.

Which is bogus, as we've established. I'm sure that infocard will be sorted in due time.

Well Jammi, good to have people who understant something more that

"I rp this way, so you can't have it"

As I said previuosly I do not know, and I'm not saying that I know and that I am right in question. I just trying to search for justification 'bout info I found. Not I wrote that info. Neither I created that story.

Jammi, can I ask? As biology student (that counts, I agree) you studing some course of genetics too?

Oh and by changing it you might need to tweak whole economies with it. Or switch slaughter house from Etna to Cadiz, I don't know.

Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it.

Cardamine is a strong drug, a DNA mutagen. It wouldn't work by "injecting" into unadapted body. Lifespan would not be determined by a specific mutated Outcast liver or any individual organ, it's the whole organism that is being affected resulting in these effects. Such drastic modifications creates natural incompatibilities. "High-tech" argument is not an excuse for frivolous claims such as this one.

Quote:unless they function is all diffrent way, and Outcasts breaths in metan instead of oxygen or something
They do in fact, albeit not metan but neither same oxygen others breathe. Did you ever notice all Outcasts NPCs have those interesting "devices" on their neck in front? Cardamine is essential to their survival, simple as that. Just because at one point one or two characters got miraculously cured (something I personally take with a huge pile of salt, to be honest) doesn't mean that it's giveaway for en-masse copying, not at all.

These are unique characteristics that are specific to factions, it what makes them different, having this contrast between them. It is what keeps things interesting at the end.

Don't put all eggs in one basket.

To illustrate the issue let's make analogue here...

For example one might claim to have a human say able to connect to Nomads' mindshare, for example. But that is overstepping boundaries into a foreign territory represented by another group of players, and unless it is made with their permission I'm afraid such player will have to put away ambitions like that. Occasionally some individuals tried to pull a trick of that kind on me. Well, Harvesters once tried to write themselves into Nomads' history at one point of their development, going as far as editing wiki pages related to nomads without ever doing the talking at all. Now there are no references and the whole "relation" thing was rubbed under the carpet. I'd say it's not wise to step onto the rakes that were stepped by other people already at your sight. My feeling is that you're just making the same kind of mistake here as well.

Ultimately the point is not about whether this or that is real. We're playing a science fiction game here, so a lot of things are purely fictional and as such don't even have any real explanation behind other than decorative pseudo-scientific background. Degree of realism in this game universe is quite low. As such nearly anything is possible, as such jammi's desire to put own knowledge gained from a biology class is not determinable at the end. But the point is being fair to material that is represented by another group of players. Point is in working in collaboration, rather than apart and ripping characteristics that creates individuality between the groups and factions just to put them for own sole benefit. But be responsible to the material you are working with, it's better to be careful than to be sorry and draw a lot of negativity as a result of disregarding concerns voiced from those whose that material is primary to their role-play, or might be even heading or directly in someone's else field of responsibility.

It's mostly an Outcast territory as it's a cornerstone element of their role-play, as such I would expect you to talk to them first.

Infocards are not the end of all unfortunately, for the too may contain mistakes, especially when they haven't originated from vanilla game. The new ones are not always been proofread actually. There are plenty examples of that and being fixed later. It's only natural that there are people who focus their attention on specific parts of this vast role-play plateau, some others they might not be fluent as much. For instance I admittedly know very little about Kusari myself, but I focus on other segments instead. If I'd do even a character here I'll first dig up information and get to know the material, ask people around, seek their advices and consult with authoritative individuals whose territory that is. Same here. It's best to consult those who know better about area you'd like to incorporate into your idea in one way or another. I honestly doubt a single person can be very thoroughly knowing about each and every nook and cranny of the role-play background.

p.s. ...and jammi, as we've figured out in a thread somewhere nearby, simply likes to argue, whether it has a point or not at all.

To translate what Yuri just said:

It ain't gonna happen. If you'd tried talking with the Outcasts and Keepers beforehand, you'd have escaped running into this minefield.

The infocard will most likely be changed because our RP was made before that base even came to be. Simple as that.

' Wrote:Hey, hey, HEY! They have no choice in this! How would you like it if the devs rewrote the Outcast infocards to state that they were decommissioning their fleets and swapping systems with the Nomads? "Sure, they can have Alpha, we'll just take their backwater pit in exchange" type thing?

They don't have any choice, it was written in. When something is written in, you roll with it. Doesn't mean it's right, or even makes sense, but for now you roll with it. Complain at the devs, not the Corsairs.
Sorry, usually I can't be fussed with defending the Corsairs, or their players, but you're pulling your hair out, rolling it into balls and then pelting the wrong people. The Corsairs didn't add the Organs commodity, or the infocard for Etna. The Dev team did. Lodge your complaints with them, as opposed to the Black Sails, who really, in the grand scale of things, have absolutely no say in how the Corsairs progress on a mod-development level.

I'm bringing it up on the dev forums, because as people said; This infocard for Etna makes no sense and ruins the majority of Outcast RP, not to mention goes straight in the face of the entire lore surrounding Cardamine.

And now it is time for everyone to move on to a new subject.
