Well, lighter ships should be faster... That would compensate for the lower armor/firepower. Light fighters could use a thrust speed of 270, heavy fighters 230 and VHF/Bomber 200. And so on with bigger ships...

Evolution does this. Higher thrust speed and cruise engine start the light the vehicle is.

Also the thing about the smuggler ship was good. If anyone has played GTA Vice City or any movie with smuggling involved you find everyone is always trying to get a faster boat. Well you would think they would make a light armored and lightly equiped fighter/hauler capable of fast speed but only have 2-3 level 7 guns. Sorta like the CIV (?) for the junkers, but faster.

To get your cargo pods back you must buy a new train. Though without pods its harder for fighters to hit you so I suggest either leave it as is, or shoot them off yourself :crazy:

That happened to me once... It was an accident, however. I was flying through Omega 41 for the ump-teenth time, when suddenly *KABOOM!* Away they went, scattering like fall leaves before a wind. It was rather suprising for me. I though I had been attacked or something.

Some bugs concerning the Liberty Gunboat:

The infocard title says "Liberty Cruiser" instead of "Liberty Gunboat".

Also the 6th (rear facing) turret should be placed further back - it is squashed between the two missile turrets and looks terrible.

Lastly, the handling could do with being slightly increased.

The turret mount at the Bottom/Front is too small - the turret base sticks out from the mount and looks bad/untidy.

EDIT: Oops, didn't know about the turret view thing Dab was on about, i'll remove that from my suggestions.

The turret view has to be the same for every ship so unless you want to see the inside of your BS when you hit turret view I suggest you leave it as is...

Please guys, don't forget to put the bugs in the discovery wiki :) . It's more likely for igiss and the modders to notice it.

The gun mounts on the Talon's wingtips bug: at least my Purple Goddesses seem to levitate about 30cm above the wings.

And I think the infocard still says the ship has a turret mount, which is not the case...

Oh, and when I aim a bit upwards, the guns in the hardpoint below the cockpit stick their muzzles inside the ship :C

And the afterburner seems to work only in the left thruster (the flame gets longer in it, not in the right one).

I guess that's all - for now.

Hmmm... where to start with...

Well gotta do start from somewhere.

1st - the thing with the BS shields - pretty nice , a BS' is now a stand-alone moving independant base - as they were supposed to be. The things worth their money, and no fighter can make a space dust outta the ship. BUT... as I say there is always one big BU*T.
Balance. We all look for it right? So where does the balance of big ships go nowadays?
I remember the earlier versions of the mod. There weren't many options for a BS owner - either u stay with your stock guns , or u buy as much Osirises as u can and mount their guns on a RH BS. Nice , although u couldn't fire them all for a long time , but u would have a BIG A*S ship, which could clearly kick the SH*T outta every other BS. In theory. In practice - it couldn't. The ships were "balanced".
Now we have something very different. And the "balance" has gone to Hell. You might ask why. Cause I could buy the new Battlestar model (wich renders the RH BS obsolete - horray!) stuff it up with some Bad A*S guns (including tons of marsflyer ones) and kick the stuffing outta every other single BS.
Do you know what? I don't want this. I want the BS I bought to be as competetive as every other BS model there is In the game. Who the f*ck are Rheiland to have such a heavy sh*t loaded ship? Actually in the game they (especially after the end) are in some kind of crisis. They have only 2 battleships who operete as bases. If u don't beleve me - read the infocards of those things.
So even the mightiest Rheiland shipyards could not afford to bild a massive fleet after the conflict (not to mention that the GMG had kicked Rheiland all over the place some time ago too). So Rheiland depends on very heavy and powerful ships - to compensate for the lack of numbers. Sounds like the picture in the end of WWII. Germany did have the finest arsenal (including guns , planes, tanks everything) , but they were in a very big shortage of manpower , quantity of equipment , wich left their perfect weapons an easy prey for the allied forces , wich were more than enough in numbers.
Hmm looks like I have answered my question. BUT (again with the Bu*Ts)-here we don't have such a potentional so we can gather at least 2 Osiris ships that can outgun a RH BS , a Battlestar class BS. So what i propose?
Every single cap. class ship needs to be reconsidered. I propose that the BS might be leveled to a point where they are all about equall. Like all the VHF and fighters and freighters we have around. The only difference between them is the hull strenght and agility. They have 'bout 6 guns. 8 for the new reven claw , but half of them are lv 9 . So why don't the BS have about 12-14 guns? Come on no BS can hadle firing 22 guns for a long time (BS guns, no marsflyer). Some other mods are already using this idea - all BS have equall amount of guns. Why u think that any country would be left out building big weapons without the others doing the same weapons so they don't fell behind?
It goes like this - Liberty design and Origin ship - 10-12 turrets
Bretonia origin ships - 12 turrets (stays the same)
Kusari BS - 14 turets (well he is big , though no1 uses them anyway)
Rheiland BS - 14 turrets (he is big and he deserves 2 additional turrets , but nothing more)
Nomad BS - 15 turrets -(Alien thing - so get over it - it has to be a lil' better than them all)
Battlestar- it goes like this 12,15,17 for the different modifications.
Another reason for this suggestion - no BS can handle firing 20+ turrets long enough to be a real threat (unless again it dosen't have marsflyer turrets - wich is a kind of cheating).
The prices - they are fine , might need a lil fine-tuning considering the turrets number and hull strenght.
'bout the cruser-class and gunboat class.Rheiland has the most guns too.
Well the crusers are about balanced... there might be something like 10 turrets for each of 'em (for cryin' out loud they can't handle the enery surge - unless u do not put marslfyers). The liberty cruser stays the same turret number and because of the front gun it might be with a 'lil higher price (along with the need to separately buy the BIG Gun).
The gunboats - they are fine - although the kusari one might need some additional guns.

Thats about all you can ready the feathers and the tar.I guess lot of people will raise their voice against the things I suggested (i'm focusing the Rheiland BS owners and other overpowered ship owners).

Oh and do consider doin somethin' about the NPC cap ships - they are ridiculous. I kill Liberty crusers faster than a fighters in my liberty cruser. Make 'em be with hull hard as a player controlled ship , and put something like a shield. A BS shield with the old regeneration rates (fighter regen rates), and do make 'em hit a like a player equipped ships. Then I will know that I'm fightin' battleships , not some jokers in tin cans. ( And if u say that ur fighter gets kicked around -I will ask u what the Hell are u doing attacking a battle group with a fighter??? )

I think it's time players are put down to their place - they aren't some kind of gods above the poor NPC's. It's time those NPC's start bitin'.
