This would benefit people who have trouble with English or don't like to RP, and also the players that want to RP: The players of the first category will be drawn to the omicrons and out of the other systems. People who are not willing to deal with no-rp engagers can just stay out of the omicrons, in the other systems, which now have less pvp-only lovers. The people who like both the excitement of no-text surprise attacks and RP can stay in both.

It's a win-win-win.

I mostly agree with this idea actually, with proper announcement and some proper refinement, like addressing the possible exploitation of certain situations, this can be pulled off, and would actually make the Omicrons an active space for constant combat.

Limiting the Nomad IDs is just a bad idea. The indie Nomad ID is already quite limited, they can't enter House space for example, where most of the activities are as of late. The fact that only Official Faction Nomads, like the K'Hara and Vagrants (I'm actually not sure about the Vagrants ID, so if they are not allowed to enter House space either, go ahead and correct me on this) is just stupid in my opinion. Indie Nomads should be able to enter House space as well, which could result in a less ganky situation, because K'Hara and Vagrants could have additional support, sort of balancing the numbers on the different sides. Considering the amount of lawful players in general, I don't think we'd have to worry about Nomads overwhelming House systems like this.

I believe that Nomads should put some RP effort when outside of the Omicrons, but otherwise, in the Omicrons, they should be able to engage without the common form of RP, however that'd need to be discussed, because in such scenarios, buttcloakings could become the new meta.

To actually respond to the actual topic, I believe Nomads could make demands for certain commodities, that'd be logical. Such commodities could be: Artifacts, Cardamine, Liquid Cardamine, and other Nomad-related tech. I think it'd be logical for Nomads to first secure said commodities/equipment, since these could be of use, or value to them.

Why should nomads demand Cardamine if its share is good for nomads?

The general rule concerning caps (cruisers, for all intents and purposes) engaging transports is needlessly complicated and immersion-breaking. I say this as a power trader (virtual shinies cost virtual credits).

The whole Nomad RP-speak is a necessary evil to keep things from going totally helter-skelter and causing a deluge of tears. If we were going to take the realistic route, Nomads would just engage any hostile with no attempt of communicating with the target.

@Grumblesaur: I think Gallia was shoe-horned into this mod and was largely unneeded. The Crayter Republic looks like a Battlestar Galactica clone. But that is just my opinion. If someone enjoys playing a Gallic or Crayterian character, it's not ruining my enjoyment of the game whatsoever. To each his/her own.

@Karlotta: Nomad RP can be brief for other reasons. Sometimes it's challenging to engage in a deeper rp-session, when you know the gank squad is going to soon be making a beeline to your position. Not complaining, but it's more the rule than the exception.

Do you really expect an answer to this? Staff can't even tell what is sarcasm and whatnot, so I doubt that Staff can make a good decision on this, poggers in the chatte pls.
Edit: Sometimes I really wonder why you make these unnecessary threads like really NOMAD MAKING DEMANDS BEFORE ENGAGING TRANSPORTS?

Always felt running into nomads was the risk you take of flying anywhere, 50/50 shot if they are gonna screw with your mind or blow you to pieces, Either way it is all in fun of risking your unlimited game life running around all the corners of space.

Staff had already made a decision on it with the rule change, which was in part inspired by this thread.

For the same reasons I outlined in the OP, it's bad for gameplay. I suspect you don't understand what it's like to be on the transport side of these such encounters. It doesn't create a healthy gameplay loop. This issue and more is/was one of the reasons Omicrons are struggling.

being a transport isnt a healthy gameplay loop

ive been on both ends of these encounters and either i or the person receiving it were being retarded and deserved it

if the giant battlecruiser says stop, you stop

i suspect you havent tried to stop smugglers from speed docking on Manhattan with anything smaller than a cruiser
