I'm not even sitting there and complaining. I'm ingame right now. I played all three roles already during that event. BPA/Corsair and Republican. All I say is I don't agree with shoveling money in billion style into lolwut-butts, no matter how new they are or not. The rewards, whatever they are, don't really mean much when you can earn billions in days.

Knowing the event from three views backs my arguments up. Feel free to disagree, but I'll still suggest constructive alterations to the event.

Not everyone can waste their time trading, not everyone likes trading either. I don't really care if it's "overpowered" because it'll at least motivate people to do it, and plus, moneysink stuff is already a planned thing, as if CAU8s and caps aren't anyway.

Personally, the event is fine. A little disappointing that there's no kill bonus for police but oh well, guess that would make it OP.

You do realize that your statements here provide the validation for people not wanting to be part of officialdom?

Your foundation of your expressed position is, "Official or lolwut". You make no attempt to be anything other than opinionated and arrogant, effectively demanding that the Admins FORCE people to be official.

I would point out to you that the server has a long and proven history of faction leaders making disposable characters to abuse people as "lolwuts" in an attempt keep their reputations untarnished.

I cannot even count how many iterations of this argument I have been subject to over the years. Officialdom as represented in this argument is nothing more than someone screaming, "Bow to mah authoratie!"

Please read only what I wrote and not what you want to read. There are good reasons for people to not be part of an official faction, I for myself avoid OPFs with two exception where I am in charge of certain things. I never said "Official or lolwut". However, OPFs are a good additional instance of regulation. People of official factions have to keep up a certain status. When they show poor behavior, it gets regulated. SOME of the current official faction leaders are quite capable of regulating their inferiors, and that is quite good.

Of course, some other are incapable of being role models. After all, Discovery is still a place where the person with the best connections wins - if you can call that winning. I fail at seeing where my statements provide the validation for people not wanting to be part of officialdom, though. First of all, it is about regulation. If that regulation provides the improvement of delivered quality, it is only beneficial. However, I think I pointed out how poor the quality delivered by certain player-mentalities is. When you end up sitting at critical points ingame either to see nobody is coming (because everyone switched the routes) or everything suggests you that even if you catch a smuggler, it has no meaning, then something is wrong, don't you think? I have highest respect for people like Steiner who were logging, patrolling and TLAGSNETing appropiately even without benefiting from the event itself.

Let me lay out a couple of points first.

I am in Central time, GMT -6. I work 1330 - 2200, which means that my gaming time is usually prior to the European evening or well into the wee hours.

In the time that the event has been in progress, I have seen one official Bretonian ship logged and it was in Conn. While I have seen two or three 5th and one [LN], they have been the classic pew fests. Add to that one KSP and nothing official from Rheinland.

You claim that the imprimatur of officialness would make regulation. In my case, it would be the regulation of not participating, and I would point out that I have been flying a Craytor Transport labeled HMS_Morgan with a BAF ID.

You chastise me to not read more into your statements than is there, yet YOU make presumptions on what your solution would accomplish with no facts to back it up. What I believe would happen with your "solution" is to give the factions a bank that would only open to those that they favor.

While the current system may or may not have flaws, said flaws are not those of one player discriminating against another with Admin sanction of the abuse.

I should note that the reason why I made it possibly for non-military IDs to buy the cargo was to give police IDs something to do during this event, intercepting ships who should not be hauling the goods and making a decent profit for returning the cargo to its source. This, however - does not seem to be the case as far as I can see.

In any case, I will be reducing the CPS of the route once the weekend is over.

As a smuggler, I think it's fair to reduce it even sooner. Though some people might only have the chance to play in the weekend, so eh. I say this because nobody has tried to stop me so far - there are no cops or military generally. And when there are some, I just say hi and dock to buy the cargo; there is zero danger right now due to their lack of interest. Us smugglers need an admin imposed limit to our powertrading, if the cops won't do it...

I say make it difficult for us to aquire and sell the cargo, place defences around each buy and sell station.

Yeah, while you were using your Crayter transport, Thunderer contacted Rheinland and Liberty for the roleplay that legitimizes it. BAF is allowed to legally partake in the trade event with Rheinland since very today. So the HMSs are now allowed to do it. If you were regulated, you wouldn't have broken Rheinland laws by sending a BAF ID ship into Rheinland territory. You know, foreign military isn't what people want in their houses.

Also, I do think you have a wrong impression on officials, as those factions don't tax the money from their members for bank accounts that will only be used for faction projects. The house factions tax PoBs for that, or even have PoBs themselves.
