Fair enough.

Of course, if the local mining factions such as Samura and Kishiro were to lobby to have that law changed - then maybe it would be.

My issue with this law comes from watching a pair of KSP officers pull over a Freelancer ID'd Clydesdale (no IFF, no armour - clearly a new player) and demand him to drop his Helium-3, which he had apparently bought from some GMG ship. What good does it do to restrict a commodity which was acquired purely through legal methods, and the sale of which would (inRP) bring money to Kusari, albeit indirectly? Should I be taking this to the KSP feedback thread?

In terms of game mechanics, Freelancer ID'd ships aiding pirates should be rephacked hostile to lawful factions, as that is a necessary part of all bounty contracts (excluding assassinations and on-the-spot hiring).

There was a sig here, once.

GMG =/= kusari.

GMG is an independent faction controlling its own space (Sigma-13, okinawa and sigma 17 and 19? eh not important) which competes against Samura in the sales of Helium 3. Him having bought the ore from GMG does not help Kusari out one bit because HE-3 has no good selling point in kusari (Bretonia, planet new london and then liberty, planet pittsburgh respectively

Also on that note how would someone icly know that the person is a new player? Maybe the character of the officer is that he hates gaijin (outsiders / foreigners) and would more then likely be glad to rid this Freelancing (most likely bretonian) scum of his HE-3. Would it not be metagaming if I used ooc knowledge (That being he is new) to change how my character acts?

The KSP doesn't dictate the policy of the codex, that would be the government of Kusari.
Not unless you want to complain about the OOC behaviour of the pilots and the way they responded icly

Agreed

also I can't answer your question about freelancers not being able to carry HE-3 sorry, I didn't write the codex nor do I know if there is a specific inRP reason for it

5-4 "Private police forces" are not recognized, condoned, nor desired.

I would like a bit of explanation on that, as this "law" is nothing but a statement. It does not prohibit hunting targets for someone who might pay Sirius-wide bounty or that sort of thing.

So, in essence, is playing Corporate Bunter in Kusari against the laws or is it not.

Bounty hunters are fine as long as they abid the bounty rules of the KNF board afaik.

This law is quite old to say, it was originally placed because of Vigliants, who are now pretty much non-existing

WAAAAYYYYYYY TO LONG...

I can make you a simplified version quite easily:

" *the dude walks up to the podium*

Everyone stay out of Kusari except KNF/KSP/Samura/Kishiro/Hogisha. If you're anything other than that you MIGHT be able to make it through, but we'll probably be able to pew you because of one of many different technicalities, so better to just stay out;)"

----

In all seriousness, it is rather long and confusing for the average player. *Simple trader jumps into one of many systems on his route, but this system is Honshu, suddenly he must be a professional in the art of that location's player built laws in order to survive even a simple encounter. It seems as if the unlawfuls AND the lawfuls are all out to get him.*

idk... All the other House's have complex laws to so I guess it don't matter.

EDIT- Unlawfuls have it better <3

To be honest, looking at the laws for Bretonia, Liberty and Rheinland ours are pretty simple

The Gallic laws are pretty simple Veygaar. Although they are full of intentional loopholes that benefit the authorities. >:-)

Moved this to the KNF section, because it shouldn't be in the RP 24/7 Rules section, as it doesn't belong there and can be confusing to new players who might realize these laws CAN be violated without being sanctioned. If there is a different place the Kusari leadership would like this thread, please let me know.

So basically, as long as I don't work for KNF board, I am fine working for other, legal bounties?..
Edit: Not as Bounty Hunter. Obviously.
