Hmm good questions...the idea of a single ship is easy enough to rule out, as they where hoping to run the coalition blockade and a single, large ship would be to easily picked off

As for the later seperation, It could have been for a number of reasons...As the war suggests, mankind had outgrown a single planet and began looking for others, hence the 'single planet' colonization not working....Also, perhapse it was too difficult for a single government to control such a vast area of space, and had to segregate into others...we are talking about an 800 year period since their arival...who knows

But, also, the 'Alliance' could be a term like those used in WWI/II, an agreement between the nations only to last the length of the war, and hence yes they would have looked after their own citizens

Could go either way depending on your opinion

Well I haven't played Starlancer so I wouldn't know. I don't know where you get your information from.

I don't know what you mean by 'outgrown' a single planet, as the FL intro showed Mars, Pluto and several other nearby planets colonized as well. If you meant in terms of population, I really, really doubt they would've needed 5 planets for a population of a mere few thousand people. Not everyone was able to hitch a ride to their 'new home' you know.

A single government managing an vast area of space? Most of the houses were still grounded on their planets for nearly 50-100 years after their arrival. All they had to do was manage 5 planets, with barely a few tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people in each. It would be much more difficult to run China than it would to run 5 planets a less than a million people in each.

I did always see both the Alliance and the Coalition as just a bunch of nations that signed an agreement or treaty to fight those nations for some time the same way it was in WWII. There was no detail which lead me to believe that both the Alliance and the Coalition were single governments, especially since the 'Italian' and some other country's ENTIRE fleets were destroyed in a sneak attack by the Coalition in 2160 I believe. This lead me to believe that each country had their own fleets, and were not in a unified world government.

Yes, the war suggests that mankind had overpopulated Earth and began to colonize other worlds...that is most governments main focus right now in space...finding alternatives to this rock

Yes, at first controling the collonies under a single government would have been easy, but like I said...800 years is a long period of growth and might have stretched them some what

And to be honest, I think that the your idea about the Alliance is a far more likely one if where judging mankind to have acted then as they do now

I think you should bash, as long as its constructively...and I'll do my best to even the balance on the other side, but this isn't my thread or my proposal, just trying to lend a hand to a bloke who's trying

So, any criticism that doesn't go your way is defined as destructive as opposed to constructive? That mentality does not get you anywhere. If you want to actually achieve something, you need to be willing to concede points, take a middle ground or defend your position. If you cannot do any of those things, of course you're not going to get any constructive criticism. Pride is one of the Seven Deadly Sins for a reason.

On another note, we offerred our help in making this unique and... Creative or some such. Something that would actually have a place in Discovery. If you refuse to accept based on fear of tarnishing your own non-existant reputation, losing some of your pride and your attitude of nobility, that is not our fault.

Do you actually have an ANZAC faction status somewhere for me to review? I can't seem to find one amid this thread of tangential bickering. No reason why this faction can't exist, though I would suggest a better backstory than having an independent Australian part of the Bretonian society which after 800 years is unlikely to the point of being negligible. And do try to find a mission statement that differentiates you from the BAF, as factions that fail to do so tend to lack things to do. Anyone remember the [WT] ? Doesn't work well. Learn from their mistakes.

However we have changed our plan of attack and will submit a proper facton request form as soon as we possibly can.
