I guess its time for me to chime in on this. I saw this thread in it's infancy last night (my time) and was caught quite off guard by it. I decided not to post anything until I got some sort of info from the rest of the admin team. I figured that I had missed some conversation, or maybe had been left out as I am the FNG (*censored* New Guy). Turns out not a single one of us knew anything about this.
Now I agree with all of you, Patrick is one of the most solid RPers we have here. I remember when he first started (with RepEx btw), it didnt matter if it was system, group or private chat, everything, EVERYTHING, he said was in RP at all times. When he started BLS, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that it would work. The only thing I will say to Patrick's detrement, is that he didnt contact us as a team, it seems he went over all of us and straight to the top (still haven't heard anything from Igiss on this, so we will see). Please understand how some of us might feel a bit slighted by this. Granted, thats not reason enough to deny this proposal.
However, when Treewyrm started the Keepers, he had been RPing and flying as an actual Nomad for God knows how long. The admin team was able to see what he was able to do with it, and to see what his natural restraints were. I was all for Patrick being granted the ability to RP as a Wild for a while and we could see how it goes. I am not ready to insta-approve an entire faction of Terrorists until we can see where that might lead. Furthermore part of the whole deal with the Keepers was that an Admin be part of the faction (granted thats not the case atm), I would want to see the same restriction placed on this faction if it were to be approved.

Well, yes - I agree on that part.
But I would slightly change your argument, AC..
Maybe give 2,3 of them to RP the Wild, but not as a faction.
See how it goes - and then decide.
Sounds better?
Of course, only the ones who were there on the start would be given to RP as Wild.
So, that means Praetyre, Verg and someone third. No one else would be accepted until it's approved as a faction.
That way they would at least get a chance to show their abilities in RP-ing that faction.

Thank you AC_Merc for not putting up a wall. Your points consider the concerns all would have with a terrorist faction. This is the kind of response I would have expected. Test runs, admin involvement, etc...when Patrick gets to this thread I am sure he will have some things to say...
I do just want to add, that as of right now, I am on the same page as the rest of my team. For now, I do not approve of this faction. Not based on the intitial intent post (as it is quite excellent), not based on Patrick's merits, but based solely on the fact that this fell on us like a ton of bricks which we weren't prepared for and absolutely should have been.
Also, I haven't seen anything from Patrick for a while, so why don't we let him personally address some of this before we create 50 pages for him to read first.

I would use Wrath and Scorpion Gunboat only. Yet, being a Wild faction, despite written very well, I'm resting some concerns some of which already mentioned either here or elsewhere.
On the uncharted lagoons of anguish, I sail with a canoe made of my sins.
Very true...this may have come like a ton of bricks...but the initial response was, for lack of a better word, rude. Let this be a lesson that discussion is far more effective than slamming the book closed when something is scary or daunting.
EDIT: Perhaps denial was never the best course of action...a "we will consider it" or "these are the reasons we feel uneasy" would have been much better.

Certainly. At the very least, ask him to talk to you privately about it. No need to just outright deny it.
I have no issue with allowing an administrator into the faction for supervisory purposes.
Furthermore, Igiss fixed a bug in 4.84 revolving docking around Wilde bases and added a new purchasable ship. The fact he created the Wilde ID in the first place suggests it was intended to be used, for why, if he intended that faction to not be joinable, did he go to the effort of creating an ID for it?

Privet, Mr Zalessky. I was curious as to the status of the proposed Das WIlde faction. I could enclose documentation of said proposal if required.

Actually, I've heard discussions about this faction dating back to shortly after the Keepers were formed. As I recall there was even a draft of this Patrick showed me some months ago over Skype. I'd assumed the Administrators would have seen it; maybe it got lost in the mail? Either way, Patrick can and likely will pull this off, and as soon as it gets approved he can expect to have me bugging him to let me in.
I don't see why not to approve it. We've already had terrorist factions (read, the Phantoms, the SCRA and more recently and most relevant the Keepers) and they have, for the most part, worked out quite nicely. Das Wilde is also not bound to RP rules as superlative as those the Keepers work by, and hence any similar issues this faction may come across, in addition to having already been dealt with by the Keepers and hence allowing avoidance, are of a lesser nature. The Wilde are much closer to a normal human-character RP, and hence can afford more communicative RP, which should make many of the associated problems disappear.
EDIT: Whoop, Patrick got there first...
