Well as to the Mercs and freelancers that is always an option, but for now we will not take on their tactics. This is a necessary tactic for the AFA since they are incapable of taking us on themselves. We are Junkers however and we know how to take out the trash. Several fighter wings of the Junker Guard have been been dispatched from Puerto Rico to assist the search. The problem here is not a deficiency in our combat skill it is a deficiency in the honor of those who hunt us. Re engaging, and dishonorable sneak attacks are among their tactics. Now that they are exposed their sting is gone.

The.Mighty.Quinn was spotted undocking in NY today. As soon as he noticed the Junker Guard units he promptly docked again as he did last night. It's no longer a matter of defense, it's simply a matter of hunting the critters down.

Jack,

After our encounter with The.Mighty.Quinn recently I agree with you. His actions and words were dishonorable, as have the actions of the previous reported attackers.

While caution is still necessary, I think we have seen the kind of people we are dealing with...

I am not a violent man - I prefer trading and salvaging to combat. But I will vigorously defend myself, my fellow Congressmen, and any Junker who finds themselves under attack by these mercenaries.

Arbiter,

The Junker Guard is being put to the test and responding well. Very nice work Captain Bishop. We are getting a better picture all the time about the people we are dealing with. I was sitting in the Adjudicator's office in Rochester when I noticed The.Mighty.Quinn on long range in Cambridge. I hailed .:j:.Terrogan, a Junker Guard pilot in Sigma 13 and we made our move. While a Congress Transport was forced to dock in Cambridge we moved into the system. We coordinated a simultaneous jump into the system from jump holes in Leeds and Omega 3 and formed up. I called Quinn's name over the system com. Within seconds, his vessel had docked and logged off the com network.

These mercs do very well when they can sneak up unannounced with no honor, but in a fair fight there's just not much there. I'm happy to say the Congress is as strong as ever.

Good responses from you all and you have handled yourselves well.

We'll do what we do best--plot and plan and move in the most efficient and beneficial way for us.

We don't have to win fights--we just have to win.

There is a bounty hunter in the New Berlin area named Gaijin_Zaibatsu. He is attacking Junker vessels with no warning at all and laughing about it after. Be on guard if you spot him.

While tooling around in the debris fields near Yanagi I came across the remnants of the Scrapshack. It appears the Wild had their way with him while he was gathering junk. The Scrapshack was a major part of our trading fleet and it's a tragedy he passed. On another note we may need to pick up Wild security in the Yanagi area, it's become somewhat out of hand lately.

Well the tide is turning a bit. The so called Halberd of Death returned to Yanagi while Alexandros and I were paroling. He said he would leave us alone if we paid him 4 mil. Yes, he really said that, and then engaged when we laughed at him. After only a few minutes he fled again, whining that no one wanted a fair fight. Hmmmm, did he not choose the terms of the fight? It is a little strange to think that Junkers will not defend Yanagi with full force.

[attachmentid=5397]
[font=Courier New]COMM ID: Congressman Hannibal Bishop
LOCATION: Yanagi Depot, Infirmary

Salutations;

It is with mild annoyance that I am ordering the christening of another Caveat Emptor. Parts are luckily salvageable from the wreck. No crew were seriously injured. I myself sustained mild biosystems damage due to momentary exposure to the vacuum. If not for my built-in environmental containment system I would be dead.

I am reporting a mild incident regarding the abuse of our hospitality.

The captain of the Outcast Battleship Australis deposed of a pair of patrolling Wilde. Afterward he felt himself welcome enough to blindly attack Corsair fighter craft right outside Yanagi. The disturbance prompted our salvage operation and the station's defense batteries to fire area denial patterns across his shields, in an attempt to move the Australis and her trigger-happy gunnery crew away from the station. Her captain chose not to leave and kept the Australis parked right outside Yanagi, citing that Junkers were aggressing his craft for no reason and a response would soon be warranted. Soon a supporting Destroyer, the Ferres As Teranto approached and sat in our perimeter as well.

I maintained the spirit of diplomacy in the face of these greater magnitudes of firepower. I continued to politely suggest he vacate and find a better use for his craft, than breaking down a carefully-crafted business relationship out of boredom. Then the Corsair gunboat Aggressor detached herself from Yanagi's mooring and a standoff occured.

After repeated warnings from myself about our no-fire zone, the Australis and Ferres As Teranto opened fire on the Aggressor. I chose to take action and fired the Caveat's weapons batteries into first the Australis' shielding, and then the Ferres', ordering all ships to leave Yanagi immediately.

[attachmentid=5396]

The Caveat Emptor could not withstand the firepower thrown at her in return. As I said, thankfully all hands were recovered including myself.

Action must be taken. Yanagi is a place of business, not a warzone. They must be taught that their squabbles end when in our house, regardless of local firepower superiority. This flagrant abuse of warship resources must not go unreported.

Our contacts among the Maltese Dons must be informed. We both have too much to lose should our business relationship falter due to these direct violations to our safety.

Cpt. Hannibal Bishop
Captain of the soon-to-be-rechristened Caveat Emptor

I would (politely) petition the Outcast Dons for reparattions from the Australis Captain Bishop for breaking our treaty sir. You may do so with my permission.

Target ID: Arbiter Vladimir Tinkerbell

Hello, and we grief the losses you suffered. I would like to mention that the aforementioned Corsair Gunboat was the main target of the Australis. We have opened fire on it only, it tried to escape. We prevented such thing from happening. At no times the Junker vessels or station was the target of our fire. They haven`t been touched, and they shall remain that way.

About the Gunboat Caveat Emptor. It`s captain decided to open fire on the Australis. We hold our fire, and chased the Corsair. I am sorry for your loss again, but I cannot stand the little twist in the story. Your captain forgot to mention that his downfall was not under Australis`s weaponry. He assaulted the Destroyer with more than a few "warning" shots. Crippling a destroyer`s shield was considered an act of hostility, and the ship`s captain decided to disable the weapon controls of Caveat Emptor.

I try to be polite, Arbiter. I will invite you aboard the Australis, and discuss this matter personally. I am sure we will reach an agreement.

Again, public apologies to the Junkers for your loss, and I will like to see the repair bill of Caveat Emptor. If it is indeed fit of capital repairs, and you can prove it was my or my crew`s fault for the destruction of your property, I will intervene personally to fix this unpleasant situation.

I hope this incident will not sever our friendly relations.

With respect, captain of the Australis, Gerd Torben.
