"Lavinia, are you okay?" Kane asked, tilting his head sideways a bit and placing his knife and fork on his plate. "Is... something wrong?"

This doesn't seem good...

Lavinia shivered slightly, despite the warm bar. Slowly she began to calm, and she nodded hesitantly.
"I'm...fine...just..just memories, is all..." she murmered quietly, her eyes darting around the bar and out the window. She moved her plate out of the way, resting her head on her arms with quiet sigh of relief and closing her eyes, trying her hardest to calm herself.

A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.

Sighing, Kane moved his plate to the side and leaned over. He kissed Lavinia on the head gently, and reassured, "It's okay... everything's fine..." He tried to imagine what it would have been like for her, but he just couldn't. It was too hard to draw in his head and see with his mind's eye.

I'm so sorry, Lavinia...

"Aye, tha'd be the three of us an' the ol' Crime Boss. So... not only millions, but hundreds of millions? Be safe ta say you've got my ear."

Clif was pleased with the timing of Claymore's arrival. He'd be the one to pass the idea along, even if it meant being...

...He glanced over his shoulder and saw the, what was it, a dog-thing? Sirius was becoming more and more ridiculous every day. He sighed and decided that it just wasn't worth caring. The two were obviously too busy with themselves to cause problems aside from shedding, and Alcatraz wasn't known for its cleanliness.

Another quick look at the man in black assured Clif that everything was still in the clear. He turned back to Claymore, "Right then, lay it on me if yer willin'. I'll do what I can ta get Sylpheed's 'ttention on it."

As Kane kissed her, she let out a relieved sigh, and her problems seemed to wash away. She looked up at Kane, smiling slightly.
"Thank you..." she said, not specifying exactly what she was thanking him for, and sat back, sitting straight and seeming a lot less fragile than before.

Kane smiled. The bartender passed by and Kane tossed a hundred credit chip onto the man's plate to pay for dinner.

He looked over at Lavinia and put his hands on the table. "I don't know exactly what you're thanking me for, but whatever it is, you're welcome," he said. "As long as you're happy, Lavinia, I'm happy." He hoped that he had said the right thing there, not laying it on too thick for one night...

'Well, ya probably know that I moved down to tha Omegas to make ma fortune. Specifically Omega-7. Well it 'as been tha ultimate place to make creds. Tha minas pretty much always pay 'nd there are plenty o' lawfuls around so ya can claim bounty on any o' 'em.

'But anyway, what gave me this idea was when I was piratin' in tha north minin' section a few days ago. There were three minas there at tha time. Two o' 'em paid before I even got within scannin' range, 'nd I only 'ad ta say one thing to tha third to get tha creds from 'im. In 'bout three minutes, I made twelve millions.

'So that time gave me a thought: tha minas respect me now, 'nd they know what I'm capable o', so they pay up now. But recently, security 'as tightened. I was tryin' Dublin a few days ago, 'nd tha Bretonians decided ta send 'n entire destroyer after me. Yeah, not much compared to what ya boys get in California, but still it shows tha security. 'nd there are plenty more problems in Omega-7 aswell. I barely touch Dublin, just ta add. But in Omega-7 I can 'ave a ship on me like that.' He emphasised the point with a slam of his hand on the table. His plate of steak and empty glass shook. He started eating again, glad that his food was still warm. He took another large piece, put it in his mouth, chewed and swallowed, then continued.

'That system is so small ya gotta be quick when piratin'. But anyway, there's one more thing which gave me this idea: tha presence o' more pirates. More 'sairs are comin' in. More 'essians. More independant Joes 'nd Janes like me. More everybody.

'Now I know that tha Rogues loves makin' creds. Well, tha Omegas are a gold mine. Ya got tha minas 'nd tha traders. But, tha Liberty Rogues got a problem. Ya got some friends down there who probably wouldn't want ya movin' in. Like tha 'essians. So, ya send down maybe five guys. Professionals. Give 'em Rocs with Snacks. Give 'em tha independant pirate look, but then 'ave 'em workin' together. They 'it tha minin' site one at a time with this offer: four millions 'nd they'll leave tha guy alone for tha rest o' tha day. If tha mina pays one pirate 'e may aswell pay 'em all, otherwise 'e wasted 'is creds with tha first one or two.

'But ya'll 'ave lawfuls comin' knockin', which is where I got problems. Ya see, I'm only one man. One man with a decent Snack aim yeah, but I can only 'andle so many ships. So when tha lawfuls come around after tha one, that guy calls in all o' tha other guys to get rid o' tha lawful with 'im. So with this, ya can control tha piracy in tha rich Omega-7 system with a few Rocs set around. One goes to pirate tha minas up north, tha others 'ang around in other systems piratin' on lanes or other minas.

'If ya bring enough force and expertise, tha lawfuls wouldn't be able to stop us. 'nd before all o' tha minas pack up 'nd quit, we make a nice littl' profit. I already got enough creds to last 'undreds o' lifetimes with ma current spendin' without ship maintenance, so I don't care what 'appens to Omega-7 now.'

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.

[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

"Now then, that's an interestin' idea. Ain' sure how much Sylpheed's gonna like the idea, but I'll put it to him all the same. So, yer talkin' 'bout an 'undercover' type deal. Interestin', I'm great at undercover!" It was obvious that Clif was not great at undercover. The bald stares he had been giving all night were nothing if not overt, but the enthusiasm was there.

Clif threw back the rest of his drink an' burped loudly. He was obviously becoming quite intoxicated and the usually stupid grin on his face slowly spread to epic proportions. "Best I... uh... *hic* see 'bout that then..." He pats himself down, looking for his datapad, finally setting it on the table. "Ain' no use visitin' ol' Sylph when I know he'll jus' be in a bad mood, lemme jus'... jus' write him a message 'bout it."

He proceeded to type out a message detailing the plans quite nicely, considering his condition. He slid the datapad shut and burped again. "Claymore, was a pleasure. It's too damn bad we don' got you guarding Cassini these days, but with a schpeel like that, who can blame ya? Now if ya don' mind, I'm gonna go get me 'nother drink. Gotta steady my... steady. Ya know?"

Giving a terrible semblance of a salute, Clif stumbled back to the bar, calling for another round.

Roger chuckled as he watched Clif stumble toward the bar. Roger had never been too drunk, although he certainly liked drinking. He wondered if his idea would actually carry any weight. Would certainly give the Rogues a chance to expand and make more credits.

He returned to his steak, all the while daydreaming about the radioactive clouds of Cassini. He may not admit it, but he missed the old hell-hole.

'Don't mind of I do Marg.' David said, swiping the bottle of Wine from her and standing up before she could object.

Daivd had been watching clif for some time. He seemed to be more than a little jumpy.

David saw him head over to the bar, and walked up to him placing a hand on his shoulder.

'You all right Clif?' he asked.
