Well ok, guess I'll just use vamps then, since they are an IMG weapon, they'll be stronger than the godesses. The main and only advantage of godesses is their speed. And since that will be gone(unless they get superior "flight" speed and range) they get outdated sadly.

Yes I know, I always talk in favor of us all using vamps, and that will probably happen in 4.85
I just meant make them faster(not refire) for realism as to why they are chain guns. Of course still weaker in damage than faction guns.

Balancing sounds in theory like a good idea. A small if nothing else edge for the player who may be good at RP but not at PvP. BUT, I can tell you with certainty it is a killer of fun and servers. I know this because the server I recently came here from "balanced" the ships and weapons. playing went from a challenge to whats the point. Personally if anything was to change increase the cruise speed from 350 to at least 500.

Indeed the Chain Gun series should have a fast particle speed.

If the actual projectile was modified to an elongated shape (similar to the Nomad blaster), with a fast particle speed, you could lower the refire rate whilst still simulating a chain or beam effect.

Really the chain gun series should be lower damage and efficiency in return for higher particle speed - superior particle speed should be their 'thing' in terms of advantage.

Well yes that's exactly what I had in mind. Make them similar to say heavy flashpoints in terms of damage per second, make them more elongated, refire being either 5.88 or 8.33(would be better), and make them more fast and with longer range than all other small ship weapon.

And, if that is considered too much of an advantage(which in my opinion is not), make them a little less powerful, but they should still be more powerful than now, because now they are a perfect example of a super-nerf gun.

What do you think of making weapons somewhat inaccurate. Since they would spread a bit, not every shot hits the target.
Ithano Circus does this very well, and it really works...
Just an idea not that much related with the topic.

No dodging takes care of that greatly. I don't think that would be good. But that's just my opinion.
But trust me, if it was like that, nobody would ever be able to hit anybody, especially with low refires.

I tried it and it's really irritating... most people here have problems actually hitting something with guns, making them less accurate won't exactly help.
