Mal, you were a great guy and got me into the lovely world of Discordianism. It was only a couple months we had to play this game together but it was a great time, and I think about it all the time, even though I'm elsewhere nowadays. I wondered where you went and why you left, but I trusted you just had more interesting stuff to get into and more people to confound. Thanks for everything. 23's.
Afraid to be one of the last to comment here, I read everything and would have wanted to say something here earlier too but I needed some time to confront my grief.
It took a while to absorb this hit, especially last year was a bloody one for me and this came in a coup the grace style.
Of all the awesome experiences I had with Mal I'd like to share one in particular which was very significative for me and that with recurring frequency,
return to my mind making me remember the great times I've spent around here with all of you.
I think it happened when the whole skype thing started to spread around the community and the KNF too made its channels. Tactical room, high command, and so on.
Mal created the "Perfect Blossom Tea Skype Room" for Kusari random talks, a place where to meet other Kusari travellers, share adventures, and have a good one.
The description of the room was, and is still, reading "You'll fight harder for a brother, than for a friend".
Goodbye Mal, it was an honor to be at your side out there.
Holy ****. I've been gone for six months, and this happens? I had a lot of good times in this game with Mal, and it'll be a sadder place without him. Gonna miss you, buddy.
I was deciding whether or not to join in the fun in the Discovery community less than a month ago now...
So, naturally, I came to take a look at the forum. Serendipitously, this was one of the first threads I came across.
Seeing the sheer number of responses got me curious, so after a little digging, shuffling and researching, I found some of Mal's old threads.
I was so fascinated and impressed not only by him, but by the community here, that without a second thought I went ahead and entered Discovery.
So...even though we never met, or spoke, or even knew of each others existence while we were both around; thanks Mal, for being a little bit of an inspiration in getting my butt on here. (And for making me look at the Zoners a bit more carefully).
