if the wording was literally "this 101 guy says that i MUST register the ship, or it gets taken away." - then this 101st guy made a mistake, cause he mistook a RP rule for an official server rule - or made it very unclear to set the difference there - in favour for taking this announcement for an official rule.

the 101st must not threaten you that "your ship is taken away" - but they can threaten you that they will treat you as hostile ( which is still up to debate - but within their RP, or so its said ) - the ship is not taken away for sure. - you can even buy a rheinland battleship and never fear to have it "taken away" if you have a RM ID and a RM IFF... you can however expect to be attacked.

i think the faction must be cautious with such announcements - if it was really said that way. or people think they are violating the rules, hence being sanctioned for something. - this is not the case, and it must be made clear. - it is nothing but a roleplay issue that is totally unrelated to any official server rule.

Id argue, Jinx, that in RP, the 101st would say it would be taken away....boarded, and returned to corsica, or some such.

Now, of course, if this was said in oorp, I agree with you, but I think that the 101st, in the RP, have every right to take a ship back, and are attempting to do so while they attack it.

@unselie: yes.. i think i did not write it the way i wanted... what i mean is

if it was said in RP and unmistakenly as something inChar - everything is fine...

if however, there was doubt about this line being inChar or out-of Char, it would have been a problem. - now its not a quote and i don t know how the whole chat went. - from the point of view of the 101st - in a fully RP conversation, such a line would be perfectly OK.

You can choose to obey (or disobey) any faction rule, but expect there to be consequences (in-RP). You won't be sanctioned by an admin for breaking a faction's rule, essentially. Said faction can punish you though in-game (as long as it follows the server rules).

You also might be targeted for sanctions by faction leaders, who might misrepresent screen shots to the admins in order to get you sanctioned.

Other than that, expect to be pvp whored oorp from time to time, no big deal really, I guess it makes some factions feel big.
