' Wrote:there is nothing wrong with niobium / berlin. - the route is sufficiently long enough - if traders fly through:

that is the official traders route. - it only becomes ooRP when they use the shortcut through chogoku. the choice is a bit like that "you can safe a few minutes, but you are likely to get killed, raped, skinned and have your intrails spread around in space as a testament of your folly - and if you re lucky, ... in that order. .... or you fly the official route and your life is safe cause there is the military and the police guarding over the lanes"
so, what trader would choose option one.
Actually the Sigma-13 part of that route has become more dangerous due to GMG's involvement with aiding pirates in their raids against traders. The entire Niobium/Diamond run is bocoming close to pointless due to no matter what route you take some lawful faction is going to oppose you making the run not to mention several unlawfuls being there to pirate you.

Actually, GMG won't touch you unless you are a Rheinland trader. They will also protect you from pirates if you use the tradelanes... but almost noone does. Most just jump through the sigma 13 hole, and get pirated by me...

There's really only one issue with the route, that being that some traders have this insane notion that they can conserve time and effort by paying a visit to the Blood Dragons and going through two extra systems. To go through Chugoku is OoRP unless your captain and crew are a set of bona fide mental cases.
The danger/time/profit ratio is not out of balance despite what many people say. If you go through Frankfurt it is a relatively long run, and if you go through the New Berlin / Sigma-13 Jump Hole (which is not in itself dangerous or unstable-- it's been stable since the 80-year-war and remains so to this day), it is dangerous for all but the toughest Transports thanks to the Wild presence near the Jump Hole.
The route itself isn't OoRP, it is dangerous, and the pay reflects that. As does the Cambridge-Kurile route, which has you go through the extremely dangerous system of Omega-41.
Quote:Then how do pirates get transports through there jumpholes to supply there bases? Alot of pirates HAVE to go through jumpholes to get around there systems(Corsairs/Outcasts for example) as there isn't any JumpGates. If there transports can safely (They wouldn't fly through a jumphole if it wasn't safe) then why can't non pirates? You can't supply goods to planets without a transport so ur not going to have pirates supplying there bases with Fighters.
Pirates know about JH's. Smugglers now about JH's.
Official transports of large companies don't know about JH's. They don't need to know.
They are using a safe route.
Would you go across the Ocean with a boat just because you heard it can be done?
Look at it this way. No trade lanes + no Jump gates = no traders.

It depends. GMG would not get involved, why would they care? If a Blood Dragon is pirating someone, why should GMG pilot attack him and spoil the relations?
They are a company, not a nation, or police. They care only about their profit.
So, unless someone touches their profit, they will stay calm.
Of course, Corsairs and Outcasts are another matter, they would probably deal with them, since they hate 'em.

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
that and chugoku is supposed to not exist, noone knows about it bar the BD and "maybe" the GC, and the navy i guess since you get some npc's there during missions but then again missions are usually killing fighters that enter the system in the first place
