Synth is probably just one of those factions that, despite its potential, is a victim of "too many factions on Disco." Same with LWB, Bundschuh, and many others.

At which point does diversity become an obstacle/impediment?

Looking at the infocard for Riverside Station (think it's Synth Foods' only base), it looks like there's room for trade development and more defined interactions with factions around Liberty and the surrounding space. Also, they may consider acquiring more seldom visited bases around Sirius.

Another idea is making synth paste an attractive commodity for owners of POBs. Recently, rice, luxury, food, Gaian lifeforms, and synth paste were added as usable base food commodities. However, what if nutrient-rich synth paste was super-efficient, requiring a drastically lower amount to feed crew - perhaps moreso than MOX as shield fuel? Unfortunately, based on the plugin files, it looks like the consumption ticks can't be values less than 1, so that would mean other food sources would need to be consumed at a much faster rate while keeping synth paste at 1.

I think Planetform, Synth, and Cryer are perfect for a cross-faction conglomerate, a corporate joint venture that leverages their unique specialties into a single enterprise and enlarges on their efforts at Cold Bay Depot. Trading between all three sets of bases greatly opens up the possibilities.

I really like this idea, having 3 corporate factions depend on each other for large scale projects.

Too bad all of the said factions are, well, dead.

Well, we can make some forum RP to merge all those three factions under the same banner, so that it is profitable for them, and more players would like to join the said new faction, if that is possible(the merge)

Also, it is better to have one active faction, rather than 3 dead factions.
