The [tg] are pretty cool from what I've seen, they've taken me and my friends pirating them very easy, paying up with almost happiness, in most cases. The only sour thing was when the one who got sanctioned for telling the other guy that got sanctioned that he was breaking rules in-system (even though he was just trying to defend me from him), and I can understand that.
I can also see what they were doing here, and I see no OOC remarks, or rules lawyering here. They're just telling you to respect the treaty and leave. As was said, there is another ALG base in Rheinland, you could've just aborted ALG missions from there (yes, losing a tag is as simple as that).
Actually, I saw no OOC chat, we stated our reasoning that we didn't want another war.
That is not rule lawyering as i see it, it is much more protecting our interests.
we told him to leave sigma 13, before trouble was caused, please explain how that is OOC, as I cannot see it myself
Also, a rheinland cruiser being in sigma 13 is a public matter, perhaps rather than saying "i have to fix it here", or "I'll come back later when there aren't so many morons here" you could have left the system and asked where it can be changed.
As I see it, we don't want another war, so we were telling the ship to leave the system to prevent that. That is an RP reason - Not OOC.
There was no GMG or anything ofthe sort. I barely know rhineand bases apart from the NB system I was unsure about what bases were where. As far as shooting at you, wrong button my mouse is a cordless one and when it dies down I have to start pressing keys just to get it moving. I can barely keep up with the times on this server with out it feeling like Global histoy or something. This the reason why I pretty much stopped using that char as well I'm sorry about all of this crap I'm just trying to get my chars fixed up. I don't know too much about bribes or where to get them especially with junkers. I didn't even remember what equipment was on the cruiser....hell I'm still wondering if I'll even keep the thing...
Well, keep the cruiser, get it sorted, know roughly where everything in Rheinland is (a Rheinland Military's duty to know where things are in Rheinland): then happy days!
theres a junker base in New Berlin, and an ALG base in Dortmund, where you can get you're reps sorted.
Officially, right now there is no GMG, but we need to pretend that there are, and therefore, if you're in their space, its perceived as invading. So get your rep sorted, but not there. ;)
Try downloading the FL companion and freelancer data storm they are both very helpful for finding just about anything you need in Freelancer. You can find both with a Google without much trouble but make sure you get the most current version.
Zoners, of any kind don't have the authority to either enforce a treaty of that nature. As it was signed between the Gas Miner's Guild and the Rheinland government it is the responsibility of the GMG to cover that.
That aside you're also Zoners, true neutral parties with shady kebab stands around the bend, so you lose your neutrality when you start taking sides that way.
Edit: Chats not an approval of you bringing an Rheinland Cruiser into S13, thats a bit no no.
There is a ALG base in New Berlin where you can abort missions,
I fail to understand why you had to go into sig-13, where you do not belong.
Zoners lack the authority to enforce such things but it was good advice.
Proceed with the warrantless venting and such.
My bad, after seeing the first little bit at the front I got a confused and when I went to type I remembered that tiny OOC line and not the rest. Most of my point is now more of a warning and not an accusation- still, what exactly gives Zoners the right to enforce a GMG treaty? I know that the Zoners are friendly with the GMG, but... you don't see Outcasts maintaining Red Hessian directives, nor BPA taking over for when the LPI are otherwise occupied. If you really feel strongly about it, just bring it to the forums via RP and see what comes of it. Ripping on someone who is repfixing doesn't do anyone any good.
I completely agree that we could not enforce it. I believe the warning was
"Go quickly Before Rheinland Military High Command sees you here" (or something very similar)
ie. we were not fighting or forcing them directly, but we would report to their superiors
As stated by the rheinland cruiser pilot, because of a dodgy mouse which we didn't know about at the time, shots were fired upon our ships. My comrade Challenger, took this as a hostile action by the rheinland ship and so called on me for support. I regrettably fired a shot, before both parties apologised for misunderstandingly engaging.
As it was no harm was done to any ships, This did create an uneasiness between those involved however, and possibly that is why some commentary may seem aggressive.
We apologise if you felt threatened, but we did, 2 heavy fighters against a cruiser, we weren't in any strong position to enforce it, zoner or not.
Taking sides? if a GMG ship had been in Rheinland I would have warned and advised that to leave, but as this was an infringement by RM, it was RM in the wrong in this case. Also Zoners are allies with GMG, and neutral with RM, therefore we do naturally have a preference for the GMG.
To summarise and reiterate:
we were in no position to enforce it,
we threatened to pass the matter of jurisdiction over to Rheinland Military Command.
Sorry for the harsh tone at times but we were wary.
We didn't take a side, we advised the ship infringing on the treaty to leave
I think as far as I'm concerned, and possibly Colonel Zero aswell; there were many misunderstandings and mistakes, which i both forgive and apologise for. I hope they do the same, no harm done really
I cannot speak for the other ship involved, Challenger.
